Waterscape Rentals by Owner — Local services in Santa Rosa Island

Danica is on her game! I wish she would organize my life as well as she has hers lol!Excellent communication from start to finish. She was always just a text away. She sent numerous lists ahead of time with other services she offers like grocery shopping and babysitting, packing suggestions and her own helpful tips as an owner. We arrived very late about midnight after a long 8.5 hr drive so the music playing on the iPod was very soothing when we finally got there. We really appreciated how updated and clean our condo, A516, was upon arrival. We especially loved having the tall stand up beach cart to haul beach toys, drinks and bags down to the beach. Danica left us a Waterscape canvas bag which I used to keep money, sunglasses, and phones in to keep them dry and separate from our main beach bag. My boys loved all the sand toys and pool noodles provided in the patio storage box. We loved having the extra backpack style chairs to carry down to the beach. We slept in late our first morning after arriving so late the night before. By the time we got down to the beach, the premium beach service chairs were full all the way back to where the beach boys sit so we took Danica’s chairs down to the water to be able to see our boys and enjoy the ocean. One of the legs on one chair was broken but we still made it work. Unfortunately, the second leg broke as soon as we tried to use it the second day and it was unusable. That was through no fault of Danica’s. I’m sure those chairs get used a lot and wear out over time. I texted her and she said to dispose of it and she would replace it next time she came. Same thing with both boogie boards-the previous renters left 2 broken ones and we didn’t realize they were broken until we got to the beach which was very disappointing. Again no fault of Danica’s but this is why she requests that you let her know about those things ahead of time so she can correct it for the next renters. Once on the beach, we didn’t want to leave to make a trip to Alvin’s Island that is right outside of Waterscape so we waited until we left to eat that evening to buy new boogie boards and a new chair. This is one thing I would stress to renters. PLEASE be courteous and let Danica know if something breaks so that it doesn’t affect the next renters! What may not be important to you may be really important to the next family staying. Having all the beach “stuff” provided and not having to haul it from home was a huge reason we chose to rent from Danica. We had chairs we could’ve brought but didn’t because of all the things Danica provided. On a positive note, I liked having the Fudpucker’s snack bar poolside for a treat. I didn’t think the prices were unreasonable at all given it’s convenience. The queso nachos were delish and my boys liked the personal size pizzas. I even treated myself to a strawberry daiquiri our first day there. The luggage carts were a huge positive also if your unit is a good walk from the parking garage! We will opt for a ground floor unit next stay to cut down on walking which is painful for my husband. None were available for the time we could make the trip and given that it was a last minute special...

If you’re looking to stay in the Ft. Walton area and you want a dependable, organized and honest host, look no further. We’ve been renting in Florida for 30+ years and can average 3-4 times a year. Rarely do I come across a host like Danica. I have stayed with her for two different times within the past year. I would give her units 5 stars for cleanliness and comfortability. The overall resort is 5+ star when it’s not over run (out of season). When school is out (in season) I’d still give the resort’s common areas 4 stars and only knock it down one due to the abundance of tourists that tie up the seating and tables with their personal items and no real resort enforcement of the rules. That said there was still plenty of space for my family in the pool and on the beach. If you’re looking for a low stress, sugary soft sand experience this place has it! As a dad I get a bit tired of being the pack mule on beach trips and it’s really nice having Danica stock her units with beach toys for the kids coupled with the beach service providing their comfortable seating, table and umbrella all set up and waiting on us when we arrive. Feels nice to get a bit of rest on a beach trip with small kids in tow! All in all the grounds are clean, well kept and have shown to be safe for my kids. The area this resort sits in is just far enough away from the strip in Destin to offer a more relaxing beach experience yet close enough to hop in the car and get to Destin’s main area within minutes. If you want a plate of reasonably priced yummy seafood Stewby’s was our favorite. TIP: if you’re here in season and don’t mind driving a few minutes map to the Stewby’s over the bridge in town. The one by the resort will have a huge line in season while their in town one is a hidden gem and you’ll get in and out in no time. Also, if you love your cup of morning coffee I strongly urge you to hop over the bridge and enjoy the offerings of Maas. They roast their own beans and have a plethora to choose from. I just wish they had a location back home! All in all Ft. Walton beach is worth a trip or two or annually and if you’re looking in this area you are fortunate to come across a very well managed host that is truly crème of the crop when it comes to short stay rentals. Fell in LOVE with beautiful C203!!!

This was our 1st time to Destin, so everything was brand new to us! We traveled over the week of Christmas 2017- while our kids had the time off school. As soon as we stepped into our condo, we all 4 started talking at the same time about how beautiful it is! It's the perfect, beachy-relaxed theme throughout & in the most soothing shade of pale blue! My daughter & I wanted to live there forever! lol! The sweetest thing is that Danica had made both of my kids personalized beach towels! Soooooooo thoughtful & the kids loved it! The master bedroom is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful furniture & plenty of drawers/closet space. The master bed is a 'sleep number bed.' The master bathroom is amazing, & I enjoyed a nice soak in the humongous tub! The regular bathroom is located next to the extra bedroom & both of them are great! I absolutely loved having our own washer & dryer in the condo. That was a huge plus! The kitchen is huge & equipped with everything you could possibly need! I've never stayed in a condo that is as well equipped as this one. We were blown away! Even the dishware is adorable! lol! Danica has thought of every possible thing with this condo! Having the beach wagon with chairs, etc... was invaluable. The walk to the beach isn't far, but it sure is nice not to have to carry things! The beach is gorgeous, & very clean. I enjoyed walking the pier.... but know that it costs $2. pp if you want to walk it. According to the Floridians, we were there over the worst weather they've had in a long time! Since we're from Ohio, & it was below 0 there..... we were still perfectly happy in hoodies! Plus we had the whole beach to ourselves!
