Closed?!?!?! If I could give it 'zero' stars, I would!!
We came over 800 miles, looking forward to the visit, as we are both Native American. Called on Wednesday to confirm hours of operation. Checked Facebook on Thursday, AND checked their website.
Friday, we git a sitter for the kids, and drove over 30 minutes from our rental to arrive to a paper sign saying they were closed for staff training!
The employee I spoke with on Wednesday said NOTHING about being closed on Friday. The website says NOTHING about being closed on Friday. When I called the museum, (standing outside the locked entrance) the recording informs me they are in fact open today, as I stand here. Facebook page says NOTHING about being closed today.
I realize training sessions are necessary, but, let people know! Very, very...
Read moreDidn't get to visit. I Checked the website for dates and times before driving down to finally get to visit the museum. When I arrived at 10:30 a.m on this fine Wednesday morning. I found the outer buildings marked that they were closed for a field trip until 12:30 pm and when I walked around to the main museum I was told that it is also closed until 12:30. And if it's going to be closed maybe they need to adjust their online hours so that people are not making the trip and not being allowed admission. So very...
Read moreI thought I was 1/8 Native American until 2 different DNA tests told me otherwise. One useless fact later.... this place is an unexpected delight in the middle of a concrete jungle. The artifacts have a distinct Incan vibe. The modern Freemason temple across the street from this historic temple indicates that there's more value to this location that is likely not fully understood by the average visitor. Hidden gem if you ask me. Be sure to support the site and locals through...
