I came to Ft. Walton for a weekend for my birthday. This was my one thing I had planned with my friends, and I chose to do the candle bundle as well. The three of us ordered this on our own and all three of us misunderstood that the candle didn’t need to be chosen on the site, so we each spent an extra $20 on an extra candle. 🥸. But, 2 can be better than 1! However, in the description, it also says to get there 30 minutes early. We, and another group, showed up 30 minutes early for the candle and were told that we misunderstood. And when it was brought to the attention of the artist, she treated me like I was stupid and should have looked more into the time and what time we should have been there because she got there after 1 to set up and it seemed like she was highly irritated that I had the gall to question the website and possibly that she was late to open the store as well. It was really rude and my friends and I felt very disrespected. Then they weren’t even ready at the specific time to get started on the candles. Needless to say, the beginning of our almost 4 hours of time at this location, was not ideal and it was very stressful. Once the painting was started, it seemed like everything was better. The artist was really good and taught really well. She didn’t hover, but she was right there to help if needed. I would definitely say this would be a good place to go, just verify time and make sure to not order an extra candle if you don’t...
Read moreUpdated 2.11.24 I just enjoyed my first private party at this establishment. As always it did not disappoint! Here are some tips to ensuring a successful private party: you will be given a link for your guest to sign up under, and a passcode, and if you choose the minimum number of participants, you can add others but will need to notify the studio because to your guest it may like the limit of guests is met.
I always have the best time painting here! This was my first Open Studio paint and I felt very supported and was filled with confidence that I would have a successful art product. Jana and Krista are the best and always ensure it will be a good time in the studio!!
Updated 3.14.22 Not only do I have awesome time painting here but I learned another new technique this time! As myself and one of the other veteran painters were talking we realize that we've done about 10 paintings each. I love it when I learn something new that I can use to recreate paintings at home. Once again, the room was packed and the crowd was varied. There were young and old, men and women and plenty of staff on hand to...
Read moreWe came with a small group of people and we had a blast! They have a place where you can put food, drinks, and get together before the class starts. You may bring alcohol. An artist shows you what to do and you do it, even down to what paint brush to use. It's very easy - I'm not an artist. They display the finished product on the wall above and the artist's work in progress on a tv screen while it's being painted (you can see the artist also). They furnish an easel, the paint and paint brushes, and a painting apron, and if your painting is not dry, they even have blow dryers. They made it a lot of fun. They even take a photo of everyone to post on Facebook and will take one with your camera. They play good music while you're painting. The only thing I would change is they need to sell water or soft drinks. Also, there's not much room between you and the next person so not much room to put a drink or snack while painting, but I understand you would want to get as many people in the room as possible. I would also like to see discounted prices...
