Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

The food was great and everyone in the establishment was wonderful... except our server. My husband went to pay for our dinner and told our server Crystal that he was leaving her a $6 tip for our $22 meal which I believe was more than fair. She told him to put the total amount in the box and hit okay which he did. I learned after going next door to get gas that he gave her a $28 tip. I went back to have it fixed but she didn't have the cash so another waitress offered to cover the $22 we were overcharged and Crystal could pay it back at the end of her shift when she tipped out. The server's attitude was beyond unprofessional and atrocious. I was stunned. She said she wasn't doing that. The other waitress told me that the manager would be in in the morning and I told them I would return at 6:30am. We were suppose to be driving to Georgia that night. We ended up having to sleep in our car because of this. I returned to the establishment at 6am the next morning just to learn that Crystal who knew I was returning still took the $28 dollars she knew was not hers and left at the end of her shift. Everyone else in the establishment was fantastic though but if you go to this location, avoid Crystal and request a different server. Our entire meal was refunded and I still offered to pay for it. I just wanted the money back that Crystal knew was not hers. Will only return if that girl is no longer there. I can't take a chance of this girl having the opportunity to try to steal more of our money when we were more than generous for her mediocre service. I notified corporate but people be careful of...

I want to compliment 2 employees of yours. If ricky isn't manager , your making a mistake. Ricky was of the best servers I've ever had at a restraunt location. He cared about not only my food, coffee, and drinks, but he also helped me to not have a dead phone and confided in me with great advice I will definitely take. He truly is the reason I choose to come to this location and he deserves a raise. He is one of your most valuable assets and im not just saying this he treated me with respect where others have condescended me and laughed at me. It's people who respect others and understand the struggles of the world and are courteous and courageous enough to engage in conversation even with the diverse range of feelings present in the mixture of today's society that stand out to me. So I ask that you recognize Ricky and as well as Hector at the cortez location wafflehouse. They both definitely deserve raises and promotions to manager if they arent already. I have faith they are fully capable. Thanks for making my time at waffle house better than a lot of my present life. I rarely post any reviews from anywhere that I visit but I felt that my visit to the waffle House on Cortez road this past Saturday 7/3/21 had to be one of the worst visits to a restaurant in terms of the manager standing out front speaking out loud and poorly about the staff under him for everyone in the restaurant to hear... Being a manager with a relatively large staff working under me if I have a problem or issue with one of my employees or staff if you will I discreetly and professionally pull them aside and try to alleviate the issue with said person instead of standing out in front bad-mouthing sad person in front of other staff and God forbid.... Customers!.. I overheard a couple of the staff call him Michael.. I have been coming to this location for years this is the first time that I witnessed this person... And hopefully it is the last I've never seen such unprofessional actions in my life... As far as the staff and the meal... Exceptional... But the last thing that I wanted to hear when I go to have breakfast in a restaurant or any establishment that I frequent is a manager standing there with a piss poor attitude... 👍...
