Very dissatisfied experience. I bought a G4 LG TV and was asked if I wanted the total care protection plan. I was told this protection plan protected against accidents such as my kid throwing a toy at it or my dog breaking the TV as long as it was an accident it was covered under the warranty. Chris I believe was the salesman at the front who sold me this and sold me the idea. I repeatedly asked if I break this in any way it's going to be replaced correct and he said yes that's how the manager told him to advertise this. I asked several times for the terms and he just pointed to the paper on the desk and couldn't give me a brochure or anything. I was quite happy and I bought the the plan. The only reason I bought it was because of this accident protection. I was a bit skeptical.
I go home I look up the terms and conditions online and it most definitely does not cover accidental damage. It does for small items like headphones or something else but not my $4,000 TV. To make sure I read over and looked over everything.
I then called Best buy support on the total care. I asked them the same scenario if my kid threw something at the screen would it be covered under this protection plan. The guy told me yes in a very disguised way. He was basically beating around the bush and not giving me an exact answer. I decided to push and made sure that he showed me where it was in the terms. Eventually he conceded and said yes That is not covered under it. During this 20 minute phone call the guy was quite rude and I asked to file a complaint against the store. He said yes I can take the complaint. His name was Sean he wouldn't give me any other information about his name or employee ID he just said it was recorded. I asked him to send me to a different person because I didn't like how he was speaking with me. He said no I'm the guy there's no one to talk to. I asked again and he said okay hold on came back 30 seconds later and said everyone is busy. I said thanks and hung up I decided I'll call back later.
After the protection plan would have taken place and if I needed it I would have gone to the store thinking that I would have been covered. This is not the case. Don't be fooled by these salesmen selling you a protection plan that doesn't protect against accidents. I would steer clear of Bradenton Best buy because of the lies specifically from Chris. Now chris said he was trained by the manager to give this scenario so I can't necessarily blame him if in fact that is what he actually believes. There was another girl at the front listening the entire time because no one else was there and she also said nothing except was nodding her head like yes that's protected.
Shame on you Best buy Bradenton
Edit: I can see from the other reviews that they basically have a scripted response to anyone who writes negative thing. This to me shows additionally that they don't really care over there. I don't want to reach out to Best buy Twitter or other source. It's the owner wants to reach out to me I'm...
Read moreIn the midst of a number of technical meltdowns, it is nice to know that Bestbuy is always there when I need them. As a full-time working mom and student, it is practically a nuclear crisis when something goes wrong with your computer. This last year alone I have gone through about 3 laptops. When all were beyond the point of no return, and I had no choice but to get a new one last minute, Bestbuy was there. I love that they are open after I get off work. I was able to get my new computer in September and go right into my schoolwork. But as life usually does, it bit me in the backside again with a computer problem. This time however, I am able to send my laptop in for repair, which I couldnt before. The 3 week time frame is atrocious, but Phil, the Geek Squad gentleman that assisted me over the phone, accommodated every request I had to try and find another way. Unfortunately Acer's idiotic idea to not have a removable battery compartment is to blame. Nonetheless, he swiftly made me a same-day appointment to bring in my laptop.
Later, when I brought my laptop in to be shipped away, the transaction was quick and easy. While Phil was not the one assisting me, he was present and did remember the details of my situation, which seemed to help the transaction move along nicely. It was my intent to buy a bag of chips after leaving and get some cash back for laundry, but instead I meandered over to the printer department because my last 3 printers... well that's an even bigger letdown there. Anywho... I had no sooner arrived in the printer aisle and begun perusing the printers when a very kind and helpful (not to mention uber handsome) employee came around the corner offering aid. I spouted off the specifications that I desired and he showed me to one in an instant that fit all my needs. I dont know if I simply had no reason not to buy the thing, or if the employee was too darn cute to resist, but buy it I did. However, I did seem to completely forget about my laundry plans. Perhaps Bestbuy shouldn't hire such distractedly adorable employees. Now if only you had open IT...
Read moreHuge 6 ft sign on building saying “Come on In”. Google showing in-store shopping, yet they are only open for curbside. Drove 35 minutes to physically look at and compare a few laptops, only to be denied. Spoke with customer service who informed me, “that sign is always up, Google isn’t accurate”, and that if I would have only ignored the first 2 sites that come up when you google Best Buy stating they are open to in-store and continued 2 more clicks (4 total), I could have navigated to the actual Best Buy website to see that they are closed to in-store today only. After talking over me incessantly, insisting that it was my fault that their sign was wrong, explaining that the first 3 places I looked online that showed them open to in-store shopping are inaccurate, and brutally defending Best Buy......I finally NEVER got any semblance of an apology. Absolutely zero empathy or admittance that their sign should have been covered at least. Maybe Best Buy should change their name to Circuit City II. In the Amazon world we live in today (oh yeah, Amazon sells the laptop I was most interested in buying for $50 less than Best Buy) I would think that antiquated big box stores would be going out of their way to attract customers. Best Buy, please train your customer service reps on empathy and how to talk to people. Also, maybe ask them if they know what Active Listening is in their interview. Or..... Go ahead and update your resumes and submit them to Amazon now so you won’t be unemployed when Best Buy folds to a superior company. Congratulations on losing a $2000 sale today to Walmart.com or Amazon. Why would anyone drive to a big box store to get curbside only when everything can be ordered online. You literally stopped people from doing the only thing you exist for, comparison shopping. Good...
