Absolutely horrible experience with a new flooring install, AND Absolutely horrible post customer service experience regarding the job with an associate named Melissa in flooring stating out of nowhere that my home must have termites & thatās why they canāt honor the warranty on their shoddy workā¦Iām sorry Melissa, where are you getting this information? Have you been to my home? Are you a certified home inspector, or a certified termite inspector? Melissa, you really have some nerve and you need to take a class on how to treat your customers with professionalism and not make wild assumptions to which you have no qualifications or factual basis to make. Also, Beware: Home Depot sources all of their installers from third parties, and these people are āindependent contractors.ā Home Depot claims they have no control over these contractors showing up to your job or not. The installer they sent named Kyle walked out on the job because he refused to honor my contract where I paid extra to have the tile removed- he said he didnāt feel like doing the extra work of removing the tile & I stopped him in the nick of time as he was about to pour a bucket of concrete over my tile. I tried to be reasonable with him and offered to show him my contract where I had paid the extra for the tile removal, upon which he had an outburst at my home and went screeching out of my driveway, just walked out of the job mid-way through. I only wish I had taken down Kyleās license plate and information to report his reckless driving out of my driveway, as well as his contract number to report him as a general contractor or whatever he supposedly is. If you ever come across someone named Kyle in the Bradenton / Sarasota area, who is originally from New Bern, North Carolina (I know this because he spent more time talking about himself than actually doing work at my house), steer clear- this man has a rage problem and walks out on jobs. When I contacted Home Depot about this, they said there was nothing they could do. Well, clearly I wasnāt going to accept that for an answer. I had to escalate it up the chain and put in multiple grievances, multiple phone calls, multiple emails, this went on for hours & hours of my time for months on end. It was a nightmare! They finally sent a crew to finish on Christmas Eve, yes, because thatās really convenient, the crew was there into the evening. Fast-forward and the quarter round and trim is already coming apart, the nails are coming undone. And no, I do not have termites, I just had an inspection recently. Not that I feel like I even owe that as an explanation- the point is this Melissa person could have pulled my warranty and provided factual information about it, and not accused my house of having termites, which she has no knowledge of. Additionally, previous to reaching this Melissa person I reached 2 men in the flooring department who gave me random 800 numbers and told me that they are not responsible for any warranties- this sent me down a rabbit hole where both of the 800 numbers I was given said Home Depot contracts with them and why is the customer calling and that they can only deal with the store⦠Yet another unproductive rabbit hole and a waste of my time. I urge you, do not go with Home Depot for your floors, do not, you will be sorry!! I would have paid double the money to avoid this horrific situation and to be treated so disrespectfully by Melissa in flooring. I also asked repeatedly to speak with Jason, the manager of flooring, and was denied. I urge you to steer very very clear of the flooring department of Home Depot, especially Melissa! I think if you went anywhere but Home Depot, you would be in far better hands! The flooring department of this Home Depot location is absolutely a nightmare, do not go here at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided fo do a remodel for late May early June. Contractor called May 6th said could start on 10th if we could. So Friday 7th we went to Cortez Home Depot to look and get cabinets my wife liked. We were there looking and discussing and was greeted by the nicest person Julie Fennell who answered our questions she was fixn to leave to go out of town for family event. We liked her so much asked if we could make an appointment with her to place our order. She said she would be back on Sunday at 1:00. So shure nuff (as we say in Tennessee) we went back she was there spent a lot of time making sure my wife got what she needed and wanted. She even got Val to assist with some of the particulars who was also very helpful and knowledgeable. During that time I asked Julie how to do a WILL CALL order because our contractor was starting Monday morning and wanted to pick everything up to get started. She not only took the time to show me how but helped us complete our order. We didn't know till almost end of order that she is a SUPERVISOR and no doubt a very busy one considering the volume the Cortez store does but she treated us like we were the only customers in the store we are senior citizens so patience was required and needed which she did and never made us feel rushed or pressured. She even helped us a couple a weeks latter with a return that she wasn't even involved in the customer service pro Jewel who also was so nice and patient and professional had to call back for an authorisation and Julie just happened to be the supervisor who handled the call. Can't say enough about Julie and her team she is absolutely the best and made our remodel go so much easier and less stressful than we could have ever expected. With the care and professional way and knowledge of products she has and gives to her customers it is understandable how and why she was made a supervisor. And the way she works with her associates she is definitely an asset to Home Depot and her management staff. I am sure she is a inspiration to all she works with and thanks again for a JOB WELL DONE!. Thanks again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I went into the Cortez Store and met with Matt (in the flooring/window treatment area). He was great and really helped us to select the room darkening honeycomb shades we needed. He explained the cordless ones need to be raised and lowered often to keep them working properly. He also informed us the circular cords vary and some will work very well and others will be tight and it can be tricky. We more than likely will keep them up so we opted to go with a regular basic cord. We looked at all of the color choices and selected a neutral one. We also ordered a honeycomb side slider for our sliding glass window. It reminds me of a conference room divider. It has buttons on it which need to be pressed and engaged to slide the shade from left to right so it locks in position. The 5 window shades and slider shade all work really well. We are pleased with Jim the installer. It was easy to make appointments with him. He came out and measured all of our windows and sent them to the store which made ordering with Matt easy. We did pay a $50 deposit that went towards our purchase. Our slider shade did get delayed so I called Matt a few times to track it down. It finally arrived and got put up. Both Jim and Matt were very pleasant and on top of things. I knew we would have struggled with the install and just wanted it to be easy and that is what they delivered - EASY. There is a slight sliver of light that comes through the side edges which we knew would happen. At some point in the near future I will have curtains put up and that should take care of the light so our guests can have a completely dark room to rest in. The slider shade as a magnet at the top at both edges which holds it closed. I do need to push the release button and push on the top part of the shade allowing the magnet to release. Everything went very smooth and I would highly recommend Home Depot's window shades...
