Waffle house is an American institution. Itâs a restaurant that makes you feel at home and that serves waffles and other breakfast food, which Iâve heard is why they call it âwaffle house.â My Georgia friend told me as much, and he lived there, so he is totally in on the Southern breakfast food routine. I visit Florida with my family usually once a year, and we had a tradition of going out for breakfast food at Dennyâs on the night we arrive. Well, we have Dennyâs back where I am from, and last year, the food was not very good, and the service was extremely slow, so I said âmm-mm, not this year. We are going to try waffle house.â I said that because my Georgia friend told me that waffle house has excellent waffles and hash browns and other things. My family was hesitant at first, since we are not Southern folk, and we do not have waffle house back home, but I talked them into it. His big catch was that he likes to eat country fried steak, and the waffle house menu did not have that. So we went, and it was a HIT. We even went back the night before our flight left home so we could have another taste of the delicious waffles. I donât know what they do to their waffles, but it makes them delicious. I wish waffle house would open some locations closer to where I live because I would eat there on a regular basis. The staff was welcoming and efficient, the food was as described. The grits were delicious. Godspeed waffle house! You are my familyâs new tradition. One complaint though, the bathroom door seemed to open very easily. Like it wasnât even weighted or something. I mean, there was a lock, and it kept the door closed, but once you undo the lock, the door almost opens by itself. Maybe invest in a door that takes a tiny bit more effort. Iâm just trying to leave constructive feedback. Praise Waffles. Praise...
Read moreThis is a drastic change in my review from 6 months ago. Waited over ten minutes to be seated. Once seated before I could even place my order a server came over and "asked" me to move from the seat I had waited over 10 minutes for to the counter so they could sit a larger group who had been there for 30 seconds. I commented maybe I should go somewhere else and asked to speak to a manager. The server ignored me and walked away. I repeated the request 5 times with her ignoring me every time. Finally one of the cooks advised that he was the manager. I explained my disappointment with the service at which point he told me you didn't have to move she was just "asking" you to. With her tone and attitude it was anything but a request. I commented maybe I should go somewhere else. He told me no Sir that's not what I'm saying, we just wanted you to sit at the counter so we could sit larger groups. I explained that I thought it was a little unsanitary sitting next to people you don't know while you were eating. In which he replied "If you have that kinda attitude, maybe you should go somewhere else." Seriously with cold and flu season. This is the attitude a store manager takes on the health concerns of his guest. I will never go back to this location again.
Food was great, place was busy but good timing on getting our order. Gave them 4 out of 5 stars for the server, was kinda short with us. And gave a little attitude when we didn't know what we wanted for food because we literally just sat down and hadn't even picked...
Read moreWe have been somewhat regulars at this location until this morning. I would say we have dined here at least 28 times in the past year, but never again. We arrived at about 9:30am, we knew it would be busy, and proceeded to wait. No one spoke to us or acknowledged our presence. There were only single seats at the counter available. A table opened and the waitress said something to two ladies who had placed themselves at the counter occupying six adjacent seats with sweaters and purses and they motioned to someone in the lot and approximately 10 people came in the door walked right past six people waiting and took the counter seats and the table. The three couples waiting all looked at each other and we left. My understanding is that you wait for your table in person and are seated in order of arrival, but I guess not. This was done with the cooperation of your waitress. I realize that the location of your business probably doesn't depend heavily on repeat customers, but with this attitude by your employees, you'll lose enough business that it will eventually hurt you. We stay at a local RV park and you can rest assured we will steer anyone who asks away from you. There are just too many businesses that appreciate their customers to have to put up with this nonsense. I am not racist, but oddly all involved in the incident were Hispanic, except of course those of us waiting. Can't give zero stars, but that is what your...
