I used to love Chick-fil-A. So much so, in fact, I'd probably visit at least 3-4 times a week!
The rewards program was always great and I felt like I got a good value from the quality of food and service received from CFA, specifically the one in Four Corners. Of course prices have increased and portions have inevitably shrunk, but I always stuck with CFA. It was the only fast food place I would go to after the quality declined and prices skyrocketed at competitors.
I didn't think there would ever be a day I'd say it, but unfortunately it has become "just another fast food restaurant." My weekly trips turned into monthly trips, and then every few months.
I decided to use a reward I had sitting in my app for a while last Saturday for an early lunch. I claimed a free original sandwich and purchased a large fry for myself and a bowl of chicken noodle soup for my wife. CFA's speed of service was always incredible in the past, but for some reason I waited an extra long time to receive my order waiting in the to-go parking spot. My app announced my food was ready and an employee was on their way. Still, I waited an extra long amount of time. It used to be in the past that the local operator Andrew Gaddie would send a "just because" reward in the app or someone would bring out a recovery coupon for a long wait, but it appears those days are long gone.
After the short drive home, I realized that the fry portion I received was miniscule and the sandwich I received was poor quality when I opened the bag on my kitchen counter. The fry portion was so small it didn't even fill up half of the box!! (I wish I had taken a photo!)
I don't think I've ever done so, but I sent a complaint message to corporate on the CFA website and actually received a PDF in an email stating something called "waffle fry deflation" and they were working to make the box a few ounces bigger in a month or two!! What?! Seriously, they are blaming fry deflation for corporate's own shrinkflation?! Wow! Haha
I received no recovery for my wasted time and $9 (it was $9 for a small soup and a few waffle fries!) Chick-fil-A will probably not miss me as there are plenty of other customers that will visit, but I will vote with my dollar and opt to not go to the chain anymore. It's simply too much for a mediocre product that's still being sold at premium prices.
Chick-fil-A, I used to love you but you lost me...
Read moreOk I hate doing this but upset, service and food as a rule always great yet I'm writing now. Sorry, drive thru was horrible not all order takers fault car in front of me had 3 separate orders and took forever to decide what they wanted. Think that's what caused the frustration but in the end I was put to wait for my food also couldn't understand how are they serving other their orders and not mine. Nothing special and chicken is kind of their thing so find it hard to believe others were ordering only non chicken items . Well now the reality I got home after waiting for my order watch 4 cars leave that were behind me . What do I find in the bag my chicken sandwiches label special order no pickle. NO PICKLE THATS MADNESS what is your sandwich without the pickle . Well my answer absolutely not the same never asked for no pickles would never because I love pickles . The point I think chaos needs change in practice and shift of resources. The guy even ran out of printer paper when I ordered furthering his frustration. I feel for him but I feel more for myself bcs no pickles wth no pickles that's just wrong . Keep your heads up when a teammate is bogged down go help not just take the next car maybe if you know multiple have a signal so others know to take cars behind to expedite. Thinking Out loud you guys are typically great...
Read moreMe and my family had gone to another fast food restaurant we had waited up to 45 minutes and did not received our food we requested a refund. After receiving the refund we had chosen to go to Chick-fil-A This would be our second time ever trying Chick-fil-A because where we originate from, we do not have a Chick-fil-A after placing our order, we had received the food. What must’ve been three minutes max. All the staff were professional, but one stood out the most, and her name is Emma. We had asked if we could have something to wipe the table and she did not simply just pass us a rag to wipe it ourselves. She wiped the table for us. As my wife asked me to grab some more sauce Emma overheard and stop what she was doing in the lobby and went to grab some sauce for us. As me and my family were eating A big group of people came in and Emma once again stop what she was doing in the lobby to jump in the front and help service the guest as quickly as possible. As a supervisor in hospitality to me, this was very impressive for a fast food chain. Emma had turned our day around from being frustrated to feeling happy...
