Pretty quick service, shame there's none around where I live. Their diced onions were made me start getting onions on my burgers. I used to hate onions as a kid, so it could be a change of taste, but I think it's a lot more to do with the composition of the burger.
This going to be ridiculously technical for a fast food burger, but just bear with me. I've had a lot of burgers, so I'd like to think I can pin down what's working with it. There's a perfect amount of moisture where it's not dry, nor is it making a mess everywhere because it has too much sauce. A lot places have dry burgers and try to compensate with too much sauce, so I think Whataburger has a very good balance (not just this one, all of them that I've been to). Going back to the onion thing, the excellent composition of the burger allows the onions to add texture without being overpowering, and the small size of the pieces helps with that too. Not to name names, but the Golden Arches' onions suck because they're way too big and you end up ripping them out of the burger when you take a bite, then you end up tasting them, which is not the point of them being on the burger.
Earlier this year, while trying it for the first time out in Arizona, I ordered a burger as is, with the onions, after decades of steering clear of them, just to try it with the first impression of the restaurant. I liked the burger so much, I specifically went out of my way to eat at this one in St. Augustine on my way back home, so that should tell you they make a good burger.
Just as an extra little cherry on top, I really like the soda dispensers here. At most places, the dispensers are very close together, which is fine, but here, the goofy looking soda dispensers are nice and spaced out. This makes it easier to fill up your cup and even gives enough room for someone next to you to also get some, which isn't always a guarantee on other machines. Something not really important, but I like to mention those little touches...
Read moreIt was my first time at Whataburger. I went through the drive-through. I ordered a double burger meal that comes with fries and a drink. I also ordered onion rings. She asked me what dipping sauce I would like. I said ranch.
I ate my fries on my way home. After getting home, I ate the onion rings with my ranch.
Then it was on to the burger. I noticed the bread was a little dry and a little hard around the edges. I pushed on the bun with my finger, and it caved in like it was stale and dry. I took two bites after I had to stop. It just disnt taste right. I took the bun off the burger and then noticed some nasty looking lettuce. Well, the main course of my meal was not edible.
I took pictures to document everything. When I took a Pic of the receipt, it scanned the bar code at the bottom of the recipient, and when I clicked on it, it took me to a survey. This is when I noticed I was charged for the ranch dipping sauce. Why am I getting charged $0.69 for ranch dipping sauce. I paid $3.99 for your onion rings, and then you charged me $0.69 for the sauce. Wow, $4.68 for what looks like a small onionn rings. A total ripoff.
Well, after I explained everything. It gave me e a coupon for something. The only thing was I still needed to buy something. Wow! You sell me crap and still expect me to buy something from you.
So now I am taking it to the masses. DO NOT GO HERE! If this is what they are serving me, then they are serving it to you, too. There are no excuses for dry, old, hard bread and nasty lettuce. What else is subpar that you are feeding the community. This store need to be investigated for their shaddy practices and...
Read moreI rarely have any issues with restaurants or fast food establishments. But Whataburger deserves this rating. Granted, they have just opened and they are busy, but taking care of the customer SHOULD be top priority. I ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich two days ago, when I took my second bite in the sandwich, it was MUCH spicier than your normal sandwich, and I have a good tolerance to spice. Mind you. It left me with burned, inflamed lips. I’m still hurting on the 3rd day. I go there, not wanting to make a comment on here. I ask for the manager, and the manager tells me that they have to get their boss. So I wait….and wait…and wait. It got to a point to where I had to ask ANOTHER employee to get their boss. So, they walk out and ask who called for them. I then explained what happened, and they were left dumbfounded. Telling me that this has never happened before, and that they have no idea what to do! No smile, no friendliness, they looked MISERABLE. It looked like they just wanted me gone. Like they didn’t even want me there! They gave me the option of food, which I agreed to. They went through what I wanted so quickly, like they didn’t care about their customer complaining. Their tone told me everything. Bland, boring, and just wanting to get rid of me. Horrible service.
I work at Culver’s, so I know GOOD customer service. What I saw and witnessed today was horrid.
Their tables were not clean, debris of food everywhere on the table. The numbers were still on the table, even when the orders been given.
I got the patty melt, it was bland, no flavor at all. The fries were tasty,...
