I just left the bank after disputing this case for almost 3 months now and I can tell you exactly the scheme behind this “business” and how it is a scam. I spent $120 on a repair and received a broken phone, not once, but twice. My phone was falling apart and was inoperable. I brought it in a third time and the owner blatantly refused the service that I paid for under the warranty that I was guaranteed. I went to the bank the day it happened to dispute the charge. 2 months later, I received a letter in the mail that had my signature and said that I signed for the charge. The bank couldn’t reimburse me because too much time had passed to get in touch with his bank. So basically, this company will take your money, whether or not they know how to fix the phone, or have the parts to repair it. They’ll have you sign without giving you a disclosure. If they would, the disclosure would say “I agree to this charge, whether or not I receive my phone in an operable condition or not.” Once you dispute it, they’ll wait until the last second so they are guaranteed that you won’t have enough time to reopen the case. That isn’t even the worst part. When I brought my phone in the third time he screamed at me in his store in front of his customers. I called asking him to please repair the phone, and he threw yet another tantrum. Keep in mind that this is a 30 year old man that I’m talking about, and I’m a young woman so this was extremely distressing for me. After we left, we got a phone call from the police saying that my boyfriend damaged his property. He had his coworkers sign something that attested to this lie. There wasn’t anything we could do about it. He showed us and the officer a hairline break in the frame of the door. The owner, Brett Westover, then told us that it would cost almost $500 to get this fixed, which would have been a misdemeanor charge. We had a repair man fix it for $200, even though I’m still convinced the damage was there before. So basically this person scammed us out of $300 and I got absolutely nothing in return except a horrible experience. Please, take my word for it and don’t give this sleaze your money. I’m a student who works a minimum wage job and I’m just trying to get by. I couldn’t believe something like this could happen, so the best I can do is provide others with this information so it doesn’t...
Read moreWas referred here earlier today by a wife’s co-worker. She (my wife) dropped her iPhone at work, and severely damaged the screen. I had the day off, and expected to spend a full day getting it fixed.
Pulled in round 3:15ish, and was greeted at the counter by someone who is definitely not modern, and with the times. I mean, this person actually talked to me, didn’t mumble, and treated me like a human. Is that what they’re supposed to do these days? I haven’t encountered a retail associate or business owner who actually spoke “fairly” easy English. C’mon….to be greeted with “Hello..how ya doing?” Just doesn’t seem modern enough for me. And to have an actual conversation with someone behind the counter….well, that’s just unheard of nowadays. Who really wants honest, sincere communication?
So, after the young gentleman behind the counter eased my “I want it my way, and now, or I want to speak to your manager!!” concerns, he pleasantly assured me it would be done in an hour and a half, give or take. I was flabbergasted! Seriously….who wants to talk to a well mannered, funny, knowledgeable and eager to help human? That’s sooooooo 1971.
Anyways, enough of then sarcasm….just thought I’d let ya’ll know that I received a text around 4:45 (exactly 1.5 hours later), saying her phone was done. I stopped in a few minutes later, and the “gawgeous” young lady behind the counter was just as pleasant as the other gentleman. Rang me up, explained the warranty, came up with a couple quick-witted ways to deny my marriage proposals, and off I went.
Will I ever go back? Hell yea! It’s refreshing to see some young entrepreneurs that appreciate customers, and love their career. I honestly cannot say enough good about them. They performed other work on my phone while chatting me up the first time, but I left that out of the previous outrageously sarcastic story. Hopefully, the wife won’t break her screen again (yea, right…as if), but if she does (she will….), I’m heading back here.
Thanks for your great...
Read moreI left my computer on Monday, 21 August because I the screen on my Dell laptop kept blacking out. I let them know it was important because I needed it for work. I didn’t hear anything on Tuesday afternoon. I called and asked them of the progress of the repair. They said they were busy because kids are going back to school and they were getting to it. On Wednesday they let me know that they could not replicate the issue with the black screen, I picked it up, $60 bench fee. Once I got home it was a black screen within three minutes. I brought it back on Thursday and let them know the situation and the owner said they couldn’t get to it that afternoon but would let me know something on Friday. I did not hear from them Friday, Saturday and went in the office on Monday, a week after I initially dropped it off. The young man that came out stated they had no update yet. Let me know that he thought it was the motherboard issue and did not let me know because he said he was the only one working on Saturday.. I let them know it was important to me as far as the progress of the repair or not as I use my laptop for my work. I felt they did not keep me notified. I would not...
