We walked in and ordered two lattes. One with oat milk and another with whole milk. When handed our drinks they couldn’t tell us which had whole milk (my gf is lactose intolerant). That was the first red flag. After burning my tongue tasting the first cup I said no big deal it’s a small business, mistakes happen. We wait outside while the cups cool down and when she tries her cup with oat milk it tastes sour and disgusting. We go inside and ask if we can have another one made. Guy looks at my 5ft girlfriend like she’s from another world. We proceed to suggest the milk might be spoiled and if he could just remake it. “The machine makes the coffee” implying he can’t do anything about the bad cup of coffee, guess we should take it up with the manufacturer of the machine by that response. He then takes the milk carton out to prove it isn’t expired, ok our assumption was wrong. I ask if we can just get another since the latte is obviously just no good here. The guy again looks shocked we would ask to have it exchanged. Now we’re both just astonished that he’s questioning us about wanting a different coffee and demand a refund for the ONE CUP since I didn’t mind my cup of burnt coffee. He calls over the owner who then proceeds to take a drink from my girlfriend’s cup of coffee and from the carton of oat milk. “What’s the problem?” He says to me like we’re idiots. Tell him it taste bad and just want a refund. Tells us that he can’t do a refund and has to give us cash from his pocket since a refund is stealing from the company. No idea what that meant. He then as we’re leaving shouts across the shop that we shouldn’t do that anywhere. I turn around and tell him we didn’t like the coffee and good customer service would just be to give the refund. He then approaches us and tells us he’s going to teach us something, “we work hard here”. After telling us he’s going to teach us something I almost popped a blood vessel holding back my anger at this man with sunglasses inside a dark coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon. The audacity to say something like that. As if we don’t work hard for our money and wish to have a drink we paid for be pleasurable. Guy is a joke and definitely beats his wife. His ego is to big to see how ridiculous his choice of fashion and coffee standards are absurdly low. Hope the bird near the bathroom doesn’t choke on rotten pastries...
Read moreMy spouse and I were shopping in the area and wanted to find a coffee shop to sit for a little bit and have something to eat. We are very happy that we found World of Coffee and, unlike some places, the shop definitely is worthy of its already great reviews.
My favorite part of visiting was being able to have my coffee in their tranquil outdoor sitting area, which is walled off from the rest of the shopping center by ample greenery. This makes it easy to forget that you are in a bustling city and instead makes you feel as though you are in a peaceful, French-esque garden. The cafe-style music fills the space and transports you to another place and culture.
The coffee and pastries were also very delicious. I typically find that most coffee shops' coffee tastes all the same, but in the case of World of Coffee, they have a variety of flavored syrups and styles of coffee, meaning there is something for everyone rather than appealing just to dark, black coffee lovers. The pastries tasted delicious and were largely portioned. They also had a good sized menu of other lunch items that I would gladly come back and try.
David made sure to come out after we had gotten settled with our orders to make sure everything was up to par, showing his enthusiasm for both the business and the customers. We very much look forward to coming back both to try more menu items and have another wonderful conversation with him. Thank you for the...
Read moreAlthough I never got his name, the owner of this fine establishment gave me and my girlfriend some amazing advice that lead to us having the deepest conversation we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked into World of Coffee we were met with the biggest of smiles from all of the employees. It’s a warm environment with low classical music and an ambiance that can chill even the most heated of customers. I wasn’t having the best day, I was pretty low at the moment of walking into World of Coffee. Despite that, the owner smiled and joked with us. My upset face looks like a sleepy face apparently and he offered me two shots of espresso to wake me up. I declined because he was still going to charge me for them lol but I appreciate the gesture. The owner is someone who understands people, I can only assume that he’s seen so many walks of life which has made him very observant, intelligent, and insightful. We just went in for a coffee and a tiramisu, which was divine, this visit but the next time we’re in Orlando our first stop will be at World of Coffee. And if you’re ever in Orlando, stop by for a coffee, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the environment that they have set. It will ease your mind and bring peace to your soul. I thank this man, the owner, and next time we visit I will get your name and I will never forget it. We’ll see you...
