I really don't like giving one star, but in this situation, I have to.
We wanted to try somewhere new, and a friend recommended us here. Ordered three combos, and a vegetable egg roll. Everything looked good at first. . .
The meals are vegetable heavy. Love vegetables, but need meat too! Not enough meat in the Mongolian beef to give three of us two pieces each. All onions and green onions, and very bland. The Kung Pao had two large pieces of chicken, and they were clumps of fat. Flavor was good though. The Sesame Chicken was good, until the fat and weird fat taste took over. Maybe half was edible in the end. The egg roll. . . No way it didn't come from the frozen department from the Shop N Save next door. It was mushy and gross; half was thrown away.
I must give credit for the crab Rangoon. They were definitely some of, if not the best from a fast Chinese restaurant.
The portions weren't terrible, but in comparison to others, they seemed light. That was fine in this instance, since we threw half of it...

Just 2 pieces of little shrimp in the dinner order. Not a scallop to be found. Poor quality beef and little of it. Didn't notice barely any chicken either. Come on man, how about some onions! Now if you like that gross fake crab (I just threw it out ) and bamboo shoots you found your new favorite Chinese restaurant. Chicken wings were edible, portions less actually advertised meat and seafood were sizeable and the prices not bad. If I ever go back it will be to try hot braised chicken and hot and sour soup. If I'm disappointed yet a 3rd...
Read moreI feel like I've been here enough to finally rate this place. First of all, it's pretty small. Only three booths to eat at. But that's about the only negative. Service has always been good. The place doesn't have much atmosphere, but is well kept. The girl working the counter is both friendly and speaks clear English.
I've tried several dishes and feel that all were very good. In fact, between several other Chinese places in the area, I feel that China Garden is the tastiest. Their hot braised chicken wings are the best in North County in my opinion. But that is very subjective. So I'll leave...
