So Deity Diner — Restaurant in Florissant

I have to start off by saying that the young lady that served me was really sweet and she was doing her best to not only waitress the lobby, but handle the door Dash orders and the mean cook that was fussing at her the entire time I was there. When I first walked in, I liked the fact that they were playing old school music because that is right up my Lane, however the music from the kitchen was so loud that it was like it was battling with the music playing in the lobby so I could not enjoy it. When I ordered my food I ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered a side of potatoes because I could not sub out the grits ,so I had to buy an additional side. It was 45 minutes before I got my food when I did finally get my food I got my potatoes they were old and dry like they had been made the night before and were put in the microwave. I sent them back and got the same type of potatoes back. This made me believe that this is how they make them and if this is how your potatoes are made ,then they are made in a skillet and used the day after because these were definitely day old potatoes. My chicken was under done and my Waffle was burnt. I did not have a good experience at all, but what made this the most uncomfortable was how many times the cook yelled at the waitress and she was by herself and he was a very nasty towards her. This experience would have been much better if I did not have to witness that the entire time I was there. Although she was helpful the food was very underwhelming and old.I stopped there because I wanted to support this black owned business. This is definitely not the experience...

We were looking for a local breakfast place to start out our day. "So Deity Diner" came up as one of the searches. We loved the name and the breakfast options were vast. We walked into the festive feeling establishment and were greeted with an amazing welcome! We were seated and the waitresses smile and friendly demeanor made us feel like we were family. We placed our orders and the food came out without too long of a wait. I ordered the regular Chicken and Waffles platter. It was delicious! The chicken was some of the best I have ever had and with the syrup and waffle, WOW! The rest of my family loved their meals as well. From the omelet platter, French toast platter, waffle platter and the Southern chicken and waffle platter... all were amazing! You really can't go wrong with whatever you order from this great restaurant! If you want to support a local establishment and get some amazing food along with a friendly atmosphere, definitely go to So Deity Diner! You will not be disappointed! I ABSOLUTELY love this restaurant! The environment was different and refreshing! Went here for breakfast and ended up ordering the flaming out chicken, and it didn't disappoint!! Love spicy food, and the mix of sauces was truly on point! The crunch to the chicken was extremely tasty, which I truly LOVE! The salmon croquettes were crunchy and flavorful, which again i love! Each table came with board games with the smooth sound of old school R&B playing in the background is what I live for! Waitress was extremely professional and very polite. The chef and the lady who was working that day really went out of their way to answer every and any questions my husband and I had and were truly welcoming (thank you for that).
