My husband and I have been going to this location on Lindbergh for years. Pretty often, we love Sierra the bartender at the Bar Top, shes amazing! She's a major reason why we keep going, her customer service is phenomenal! We order essentially the same thing every single time. The issue today was my husband's order; 2 chicken and chorizo cheese quesadillas. It took longer to come out of the kitchen, so of course Sierra The Great, let us know theres a delay and shes not even sure why. My plate has been served already and my husband's plate comes out eventually and we ask for the manager. We never had issues before, so why today? Raul the manager on 8.9.23 said verbatim "we cannot cross contaminate chicken and chorizo to make your quesadilla. We are trying to figure that out. We are taking this off the menu. It's not safe for you". I point to my plate, that literally had a split chicken breast, chorizo on top, and cheese..... I say "so like this.... " he confirmed, "yes like that". Then he just stood there. I had my plate, my husband had his. My husband asks "so does that mean you guys are taking out chicken quesadillas off the menu? In general?" Raul says "yes we are trying to figure that out". As a manager, you'd think he would have some facts to follow after that statement, but that's all he had to say. Again, just standing there with no answers but mentioned "I'm just the enforcer, I don't make the rules". My husband tells Raul to go away at this point, but Raul standing there and reaches for my husband's plate (which was weird). My husband moves his plate away from him and reiterates, go away! Mind you, I only had a few bites of my food and husband has had ZERO. Raul eventually walks away and we ask for his name, he says nothing while walking into some room by the restrooms. This was our first bad experience and our first time asking for a manager. He was unprofessional, unknowledgable, and trying to take a plate away from a customer???? Us being "regulars" has us hesitant to go back now. We love Sierra though! (Photos are of my husband's regular chicken/chorizo quesadilla and of my plate Pollo Mochicano; aka "cross contaminated...
Read moreThe good and the bad: 3 initial positive experiences: sharable fajitas las fuentes plate, very good. Left large tip with thank you note. Same thing again, with queso bowl, also very good, same story for 3rd. A great draw was the older, rotund man who either owns it or runs it - good sense of humour, boos the cardinals in an obviously cardinal nation area - doubt he's serious, think he just loves the reactions. Sings while he works. Fun! Also, go Cards! One day he was wearing a wig and fake boobs, hilarious. :)
2 subsequent bad experiences (we won't be going back): Young, caucasian waitress supposedly neglected to inform us that our food had been made wrong and had to be started over. Nearly empty restaurant, 45 minutes later is when she graced us with the news. We asked to pay for my soda so we could leave (that's all we'd gotten). She brought us the whole check, I explained again and we finally got out of there only 3 dollars poorer and with absolutely no attempt at saving a customer.
I should have learned, but I chalked it off to a bad waitress, until with 2 others, we ordered some takeout. Every different dish was awful; new chef? I don't know. The food was completely devoid of flavour, completely bland and gummy. Normally, we will finish eating what we have anyway, no one likes waste but I couldn't talk myself into it.
We are sad to give this place up, but money doesn't grow on trees and...
Read moreFamily outting on a Thursday? Las Fuentes is a great place to eat. Husband and I started off with a flight of frozen margaritas. So refreshing and good. Love the sample platter appetizer. Big enough to share with the whole group of four we had with us. I thought the oldest niece would turn the whole container of the mango Chipotle dipping sauce up and drink it like a shot (she is over 21), but she showed some restraint and just poured it over everything on her plate. It was that good. The sampler platter could be a meal all on its own. I know I have done it before. Couldn't finish it in one setting but enjoyed the leftovers the next day warmed up in the air fryer. I do enjoy their fried tacos with the shredded chicken. I can never eat all four in one setting but they are so good. Everything that I have tried has been excellent. Our waitress Olivia was just as bubbly as she could be. Gave great suggestions, serves was excellent, and never let our drinks get too low before offering more. Kept our table cleaned and organized. Whether we take it out of eat in we always have a...
