Disorganized and Stressful Experience – Decent Food, But Not Worth It

My husband and I visited Grutogi Bistro for the first time today, excited to try it after seeing it online. We live in a rural area and love exploring new places on the weekends, so we drove an hour to Flower Mound just for this. Unfortunately, the experience left us more stressed than satisfied.

When we walked in, the place was packed. We had no idea what the process was—whether we should wait to be seated, line up to order, or do something else. The staff was busy, and no one acknowledged us or explained the system. After watching other customers, we figured out that you order at the counter, but even then, we weren’t sure how seating worked.

We wanted to dine in but weren’t sure if we’d even get a table. When we ordered, I asked if there was seating available, and the cashier said there was a table on the side. After placing our order, we realized there actually wasn’t, and that’s when the real stress began.

There was no system for seating—it was basically a free-for-all. Customers had to hover awkwardly, hoping to grab a table before someone else did. We ended up outside at one point, trying to get a spot, only for another couple to swoop in ahead of us. The same thing happened inside. By then, we were walking around holding our drinks, just hoping for an opening. Right before our food was ready, my husband and I had to get a little more aggressive and quickly grab a spot as soon as someone got up. I took one seat at the bar while he stood awkwardly nearby, waiting for another person to leave.

By the time we finally sat down, we were too frustrated to enjoy the food. The avocado toast and mango salad were decent, and our drinks were fine, but the stress of the whole experience ruined it for us. If we were locals, maybe we would have known to claim a table first, but as first-time visitors, we had no idea what to do, and no one helped us.

Overall, it’s a cute spot with decent food, but the lack of an organized seating system made for an unpleasant experience. It’s not a place I’d go out of my...

I genuinely don't even know where to begin. When you walk into Grutogi Bistro, it's like stepping into another world, genuinely. The design is modern with some rustic elements, the food is AMAZING, the entire establishment is immaculate and hygienic, and most importantly - it's operated by the most down to earth family and employees I've met in a long time.

I ordered the Farmhouse Brisket Panini, my grandmother ordered the Mediterranean Bliss Bowl with Hibiscus Medley, and my grandfather ordered the Rise & Shine Avocado Open Toast with the House Cold Brew. Everything was cooked to perfection and the drinks were so refreshing and tasty.

I hardly leave reviews; but, Grutogi Bistro deserves that and much more. They are so friendly, so genuine, and they are one of the only places I've been to that actually upholds what a bistro is. Amazing. I could go on and on but they have definitely earned our patronage and I HIGHLY recommend you give them a try. You can't get much better than family-owned...

Our family visited Grutogi Bistro's soft opening today, and oh my, it was just ethereal. From the moment we stepped in, we fell in love at first sight with the alluring setup. Dozens and dozens of lights above provided a magical feel à la the dining hall in Hogwarts. There were plenty of plants to offer an intimate yet enchanting landscape. We tried a variety of dishes, including the brisket panini, chicken panini, shrimp sandwich, and salmon salad. Each plate was a delightful surprise, surpassing our high expectations. The sandwiches were memorable, particularly the zesty flavor of the marinated red onions that enhanced the overall taste. Quality and freshness were evident in every bite, and the Brisket Panini was outstanding; the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The blood orange drink was also good and complemented the food. Grutogi Bistro will definitely be among our favorite places to eat. We recommend it to everyone who wants above-average quality food at...

The restaurant, run by a warm and welcoming Korean family, prides itself on offering a simple yet delectable menu featuring fresh and high-quality ingredients. During my visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in some of their signature dishes, and I must say, each item left a lasting impression on my taste buds. One of my personal favorites was the avocado toast, which was impeccably prepared and bursting with flavor. I also highly recommend trying their chicken sandwich, as it was a delightful combination of tender chicken and savory seasonings. Additionally, the tomato soup was simply exquisite, providing the perfect blend of richness and comfort. I am already looking forward to returning to the restaurant to sample more items from their enticing menu. I have no doubt that each culinary creation will be a culinary delight worth savoring. To my personaly, this restaurant has undoubtedly won me over as a devoted patron.

My sister and I were looking for a cute place for coffee and food and we found it! Before going to places with reviews like this, I ALWAYS look at the bad reviews too. The place is a bit small, but nothing about the layout and service is confusing. I imagine they get hit in the mornings, so that's something to look out for. My sister and I went at around 2pm and there were plenty of free places to sit. We got the harvest shrimp wrap (which, we were told, sells out, and we got the last one) and the golden chicken panini. Both were incredible in different ways. My sister got the strawberry matcha and I got the Blueberry Bliss Latte. In both of our foods and drinks, we could tell that they use fresh ingredients and that everything is made to order. Simply an incredible experience. Definitely will be coming back with our college textbooks in hand and a smile on our face!
