Let's be honest... it's hard to screw up a pizza. Most of us will eat cheap pizza and leave with a happy belly so what makes an amazing pizza? I hope to find out over the next few weeks š¤£
I recently had a chance to stop by @peytonspieco in Flowery Branch which isn't far from where I live. It's located in the little downtown area across the railroad tracks, and although the area can get busy, it is a nice and quiet area. I ordered the LOTS OF CHEESE pizza which has fresh mozzarella with smoked gouda, shredded mozzarella, parmessan, and basil. The crust and dough on this pizza was incredible but the pizza was unfortunately way too floppy and I didn't get any of the cheese taste I was hoping for š£ And yeeesss yes, before you come at me, I do know how to eat a pizza 𤣠I definitely see how this pizza has potential but it just lacked that flavor I needed for me to say it's awesome. I also ordered some of their WOODFIRED CHICKEN WINGS with their ALABAMA WHITE SAUCE... now this, this is a winner!! The flavor and the way the wings were cooked, it was just perfect. When I go back I have to try their Chipotle honey BBQ wings š¤¤
I've been wanting to comment on their service before I forgot about it... the server was nothing short of amazing. You'll leave happy with the level of service you are provided while visiting this establishment, no doubt. There aren't many tables as the building is a bit on the small side but after I left I realized they also had tables outside. Parking can be tight in front but because of the way the streets and blocks are set up here, you can park around the corner and only be a minute or two away.
I was disappointed with the pizza (23 bucks) but I told myself I would stop by again because their menu does look fun and the wings were šš I'll try their pizza again... question is, which one should I try next š¤
Let me know if you've been to this spot and what you think!! If there are any other spots I should check out let me know and I'll put them on my map š¤

Ā Ā Ā Read moreHome for the weekend and wanting to try the pizza place they had been raving about, my parents and I set out forā¦. DāItalia Pizzeria.
What Garrett? This review is for Peytonās Pie Company? I know, I know. Finding DāItalia Pizzeria closed, we enlisted the help of google maps and found Peytonās Pie Company nearby. Instead of being disappointed I wouldnāt get to try the pizza my parents were so enamored with, I was excited! I could use this opportunity to directly compare two of Flowery Branchās best pizza places through my parentās eyes. DāItalia Pizzeria vs Peytonās Pie Company.
When we sat down our waitress Natalie took our drink orders unenthusiastically and declined to refill them for the rest of her tenure as our waitress. I think the manager must have recognized me from my reviews, because our pizza came out with a new waiter⦠Mark was one of the best waiters Iāve encountered in my life. Kind, attentive, but not overbearing, he elevated the experience far beyond anything that Natalie could have offered.
We ordered both salad offerings and the supreme leader pizza. The food was delicious! True to its name, the āClassic Caesarā was exactly what youād expect, but the āWild Farm Greensā was my favorite. If you like a firm, crispy undercarriage, then this pie wouldnāt be your favorite. It was floppy, but well made and hit the spot!
At the end of dinner, my parents remarked that they enjoyed the food, but it didnāt rival DāItalia Pizzeria. So, if youāre in the area and looking for a great pie, I have it on good authority that thereās none better than DāItalia Pizzeria. I hope to have my own review of it up soon and will update this one if my parents and I have different opinions. That said, Peytonās Pie Company is a great option and I highly recommend it!
EDIT: In response to the ownerās comment on my review:

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn al honesty I wouldnāt give this place a star but thatās not an option. I heard great things about this place but must say I wasnāt impressed. First of all the food was not great: there was verily any cheese on the pizza. I ordered wings and they took for ever, we were done with the pizza before the wings were served. Second, service was unwelcoming: I was with a large party (separate checks) and some people in my table requested ranch dressing. I went to the counter to request ranch to have with the three orders of wings I ordered and I was told I had to pay for them because some people in my table had received ranch already. I explained I wanted the ranch for the three orders of wings I ordered and the waiter/counter person had to asked the manager (may I said she acted annoyed). The manager told her to give me the ranch and then the manager approached me acting as if he was doing me a favor and explained about cost and how they were cutting off on things. Forgive me if Iām wrong but is very standard to have a side of ranch or blue cheese with wings. In all honesty the food was not great, the prices were high, no free refills on fountain drinks and I felt uncomfortable with the bad attitude displayed by the woman who wanted to charged me for a side of ranch. I donāt think Iām giving this place...
