Giving a customer inaccurate information I guess is what this business is all about. I repeatedly asked the elderly lady working the front desk if the sausage in which she was serving if it was beef or pork. She reassured me on numerous occasions — NO SIR, it’s beef!
I trusted her word and went with what she said. On today, when I got ready to order my usual I said “I would like 4 beef sausages” she told me it was indeed (PORK). She sat there with a puzzled look and asked if I would like anything else! No! No, I would not like anything else….
I left due to my anger rising. Not only is NOT consuming pork a health choice I made for myself 10 years ago — it’s also against my religion to consume it.
Although, I didn’t feel initial consequences - I -always felt a discomfort in my stomach later and I assumed it was due to the spices within the sausage…… but, on today….. I learned the true reason why.
Not to mention the time in which it takes to order and leave takes over 10 minutes…..

Read moreFirst off there's no place to sit and eat your food except in your car. It's a gas station quick store and you order at the counter. They do have the meats and such in a glass case so you can see what you're getting. I got the chicken and I have to admit it was very delicious. I was disappointed that the sauces they offered were both bottled. Seems like a place like this would make their own. I got the macaroni and cheese and coleslaw for side dishes. The mac and cheese was from a frozen tray that you could see in their cooler. The coleslaw seemed pretty good and creamy. It was served with two dinner rolls in a styrofoam box. The lady at the counter who waited on me seemed like she was kind of burned out. The prices seem fair in today's world but you must factor in that there's...
Read moreStaff was friendly. I ordered the BBQ Beef sandwich, as this is one of the very few BBQ places left that still serves "pulled/chopped beef". Most places that offer BBQ beef generally serve it a la "sliced brisket". Which is the easy way to do it. "Pulled" or "Chopped" BBQ beef takes longer to prepare, but the texture is much better IMHO than sliced brisket, and so is the flavor. The meat itself I give an A+. The bun unfortunately was flat and nothing to write home about, C-. The BBQ sauce was flavorful, robust, thick and a bit tomatoey. Not really sweet at all though, which surprised me because most thick BBQ sauces are quite sweet. A little tangy, and smoky. All around I'd say it was a pretty good sauce, a solid B+. I didn't get any sides, so I can't rate those. Will...
