Mississippi Legends Grill — Restaurant in Flowood

My husband and I attempted to eat at this establishment this evening, Sunday, March 9, 2014, at approximately 5:15 pm. It would have been our first visit to MLG. We had heard it was a good place to eat and we anticipated a delightful experience. It was anything but that. We stood at the hostess station wondering if we were invisible b/c no even looked at us as we stood, waiting to be seated as the sign instructed. I heard someone say, "There's someone at the front door.", yet no one looked our way. The restaurant wasn't busy. There was a booth with 2 people seated and several (possibly 3-4) people at the bar. I could see cooks in the kitchen and a bartender talking to the patrons at the bar yet no one acknowledged our presence. My first time here and it will be my last. At 8:00 on Saturday night and no one eating but there were 7 or 8 people at the bar and 2 of them evidently had to much to drink; they kept running outside to smoke. Just a revolving door of people leaving the bar and returning to the bar and none ordering food. It’s primary function appeared to be a bar and not a restaurant. Cigarette butts litter the parking lot outside the entrance. The catfish was poor quality and cut razor thin and didn’t taste like catfish. Our appetizer was the onion rings and they were burned and so we sent those back. The meal was a disaster. $37 wasted. Loved this restaurant, It was our first time to go and the service was very nice and welcoming. Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. We will be going back often! The Appetizer - Loaded potato skins were cooked perfect they were served hot and had plenty of bacon and cheese. They gave us a great amount of sour cream with it as well. The Jimmy the mushroom swiss burger was big and very juicy. I loved the grilled burger and mushroom .It comes with tomatoes and lettuce as well as mayo.
