The Original Mel's Diner — Restaurant in Folsom

Our family visited here around 10am on Sunday. The restaurant was starting to get crowded but we managed to get a table. We had to wait for awhile for a waitress to put our order but the food came out relatively fast (around 15 mins).

kids meal - burger with fries and oreo: my kid liked it and finished all the burger and fries. I tried a bite of the burger and it tasted good. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. chorizo skillet: the portion was smaller than I expected. The flavor was on point but I wish they put more chorizos. The hash brown was tasty & crispy. The sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly.

We had good experience and good food. We would come back to try different menu.

Tips: do come early for breakfast as there was a line when we left the restaurant...

I reviewed 6 months ago with 5 stars and was disappointed with the restaurant this evening. My husband ordered a hot fudge sundae which had no fudge in the glass just three strands of fudge running down the outside of the glass. I ordered a banana split which was less the bananas and when we told her about it she said it happens all the time. She did offer to bring bananas they were supposed to be under the ice cream though. The fries where hot and soggy. We asked for everything to be at once. The fries came early then the sundae and the banana split took a long time. Servers were friendly. It was Mother's Day weekend, so I expected complete chaos like every other restaurant. To my surprise, the organization and communication to be seated was a breeze.

Once we were seated, our drinks came out quickly. We needed some extra time with the menu because our kids did not know what they wanted yet. Our waitress was more than accommodating and checked back in with us as soon as we were ready.

The turn-around with our food and additional drinks were sufficient. The cooking quality of our breakfast was amazing! Exactly how we ordered it. I was very satisfied with our service and food quality. I would highly recommend this...
