Been here a couple of times over the past few years. All those times were Great, except for today. There were not a lot of people, but yet everything, especially for us, was slower than molasses in January. Service was slow. Waitress was either not well trained or didn't give a crap, because we never got plates to eat our appetizers which took over 20 minutes just to come out. Are we eating in courses, because that's how our food was. Appetizers then soups/salads, then bread, and then 30 minutes later (which was about 1 hr 15 min later, we finally got our food. ALL the while, our waitress never asked or checked if we needed water/soda/or alcoholic beverage refills. I ordered another drink, damn... it took 10 minutes to get it. It should never be this way. I love this place and promote it to anyone who wants good food. I am a Heavy tipper and I at the very least tip 15%. NOT this time. Good service = great tip. Slow/bad service = piss poor tip.
MANAGEMENT - I really hope you see this, that's if you even care... why did we not get supplied plates for our appetizers? Why do we have to ask for service? Why did we have to wait so long for drinks and refills? WHY DID IT TAKE OVER AN HOUR TO FINALLY GET OUR MEALS? We came and was seated at 5:55pm and at 6:55pm we didn't get our meals yet. People came after us and got food before us, and they were done before we even got our meals. I hate not like and recommend this place--Salty's, but I don't think I will come back here anytime soon, or continue recommending it.
Fix your service.
I'm disappointed like crazy. But who cares, your wait...
Read moreWe had a very weird experience with this place recently that had to do with trying to even get a booth for 2. We popped in on a Friday and of course there was a wait, which is to be expected. This was probably the least busy on a Friday we've seen the place since we've been there dozens of times. The hostess told us 30 minute wait. So we left and walked around lake side park for 30 minutes and came back.
I asked the hostess when we got back how much more time we'd need to wait. She told me that they were cleaning off a booth for us and it should be ready any minute. I said great! I went to the bathroom and was gone for maybe a minute or two.
I walked out of the bathroom and the same hostess approached me and apologetically said we'd have to wait an additional 30 MINUTES. I clarified with her to make sure she said 30 minutes, not 3. She indeed said 30 additional minutes. I told her you said that 30 minutes ago?? My husband and I were so confused! I'm assuming one of the other hostesses gave our booth to someone else, which I understands happens if you have multiple hostesses. I don't understand the additional 30 minutes though. What happened? I've waited 30 minutes for a much busier night at this place. Waiting a full hour seemed really excessive to me. We were so confused and annoyed so we left.
This review probably wont affect them as they are a very popular seafood place in town. I do think their food is excellent but their young hostesses need to communicate with each other...
Read moreUsually they are spot on but tonight I do have to drop the 5th star to a 4 star rating. Service was great. Our waitress was prompt, very friendly and everything else you'd want her to be. My issue was with the meal. My wife's steak was perfect... ordered it medium, and it arrived medium. Her snow peas though, they were over done... they were pretty mushy and had zero "snap". My steak was also ordered to medium, but it was much closer to medium rare to rare in the center. A 14oz. Ribeye and I probably had to trim close to 5oz. of rare meat off. Also, the steamed broccoli had an after taste of fish. I love fish and I love seafood but, not fish tasting broccoli. I get that it's a seafood restaurant but that's no excuse. Because it was towards the end of their night (9pm they close, we came in at 8:05) and this literally was the only time we've ever had a somewhat negative experience, I'm not going to be too harsh with the overall rating. This is more of a heads up to the kitchen. Please see it thru to the end of your shift. I expect the same quality of food at 6pm as 8pm. I get that you're trying to get as much cleanup done as possible at the end of the night, but trying to rush the cooking process doesn't work for us customers who have just worked a 12hr shift and have spent the last 4 hours of that shift looking forward to one of your usual perfect meals. To be clear, the other 30+ visits we've had have been stellar. And we do look forward...
