Arrived at this location around 12pm Sunday, January 15th, 2023, a holiday weekend. We expected a wait, which was fine. After about 30 minutes, our table was ready. We were seated at a back booth right by the kitchen. Our order was promptly taken; server was very nice. After about 35-40 minutes, we received our food. All of our food was lukewarm, and that's being generous. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was cold and bland. The over easy eggs on top looked plastic. I informed our server, who apologized, and sent it back to be "made over". In less than 5 minutes, the server returned with a "new dish". I think they must have stuck it in the microwave for 30 seconds and sent it back to the table. I again told the server, but decline an offer to make again-which they never did in the first place. After ALOT of salt and pepper, I was able to eat 3 or 4 bites, but my appetite was spoiled at this point. My son's pancakes were so cold, he only managed about 2 bites. We've been to this Eggs Up Grill several times and the food was always good. Did you guys change kitchen staff? The food was horrible and we won't return. And, note to self, never be seated by the kitchen where the bus cart is sitting and dirty dishes being slammed in it the entire meal! Disgusting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend suggested that we try Eggs Up Grill due to Darci Strickland on WLTX saying how good the restaurant is. We went to the Forest Drive location. Darci Strickland went to the Devine street location. This was my first time here. It gave me a Waffle House vibe. I was immediately shown to my table. Iooked through the menu while waiting on my friend. The prices were reasonable. My waitress was nice. I decided on the BLT with fried potatoes. My friend got a vegetable omelette, toast, and grits in a small bowl with a slice of cheese on top. My potatoes were seasoned very well. My BLT was mediocre. My friend's grits were warm. She asked for shredded cheese and removed the whole slice of cheese. The shredded cheese would not melt. She said her omelette was good. She ate one bite of the grits and toast. We ordered fruit parfait to go. It was mediocre. Maybe we should have ate it at the restaurant. The Forest Drive location is mediocre. We will try the Devine street location at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am absolutely appalled by the experience I had at this Eggs Up Grill on Forest Drive. I ordered the Texan Bowl without chorizo sausage because I am a vegetarian. When the dish arrived, it came with sausage. I politely pointed out the mistake, expecting it to be corrected.
Instead of preparing a fresh meal, I had a clear view of someone in the kitchen digging through my bowlāwith a gloveāto remove the sausage. To make matters worse, the server herself began picking through the same bowl before bringing it back to me, as if this was acceptable.
This is not only unsanitary, it shows a complete disregard for dietary needs, customer requests, and basic respect. I would love to know if this is actually your policyāto remove meat from a dish and serve it back to a vegetarian customer instead of preparing a proper replacement.
The level of service and care was shocking, and it left me with zero confidence in the restaurantās practices. This was not just disappointingāit was...
