This place was our go to! The servers are amazing, the food is one of the better options around, & we go almost weekly lately. We are from the south. So we are used to the hash browns being cooked slightly different. Instead of a tall pile with only the edges crispy and the middle gooey with grease, we are used to it spread flat on a griddle and cooked crispy throughout. The last time we went the waitress actually told us to order them "flat and crispy". So we have and it went great. FAST FORWARD TO YESTERDAY! We went in as usual. Ordered our usual, explained to her we wanted the hashbrowns flat and crispy, and gave a quick explanation of why and where we were from. She goes back to the kitchen, tells the cook, & the cook yells " well that's stupid!" Then for the first time ever the cook brought the food to us instead of the waitress and with an attitude hands us some deep fried over cooked hashbrowns and says something rude about how she cooked them and she was so confused about how to cook them. The waitress then rushes over as she's walking away and asks if everything is OK and I mention yes. But she was just rude. The cook then proceeds to sit at the bar stool and loudly ask employees if she was being rude because she didn't think so & then proceeds to loudly chat with customers about it and make her presence known. I work in customer service. It really wasn't even that serious. But I am DEEPLY appalled about how this situation was handled. What used to be our favorite spot has now deeply disappointed me. On top of that it was my husband's birthday and this is where he wanted to go because it WAS our favorite...
Read moreMaridon's has been a favorite for many years until recently. It is under new ownership now and the new owner puts down and belittles employees while chatting with customers, she lies about previous employees and makes false accusations that defames ones character and has even fired an employee for not being able to come in due to testing positive for COVID. Why would you want an employee at work when they have COVID? The food has always been great (with the exception of the country gravy. Definitely need a better recipe and stop putting garlic in it) the atmosphere used to be pleasant, warm, and welcoming. I have been a customer for many years but won't go back as long as it's owned by Tammy. I know there are others who feel the same way. Sad.
Edit: Have to add they have the absolute BEST chicken n dumplin's. It's been a while since I've had them but definitely a meal to remember. Yum! I usually order...
Read moreSo,, I would like to give this place more stars but I cant.. I ordered chicken fried steak, with hashbrowns, 2 over medium eggs a biscuit,, with a side of gravy,, and a coffee,, it was all $19 with an 11% tip.. median price for breakfast nowadays.. That was seriously the biggest pan biscuit cake piece I had ever seen.. To bad I the gravy was only so, so. The eggs were almost perfect, but A little oily.. Smallish portion of Hashbrowns. Threceived.. big disappointment,, it was the smallest piece of chicken fried steak I have ever recieved.. The coffee was mild and flavorful. Even with that monster piece of biscuit bread,, I Still left hungry.. Between leaving hungry and the world's smallest piece of chicken fried steak, homemade gravy just a step above packaged,, results in a 3...
