To start, the prices here are a bit too high for what it is. It's mediocre, at best. The main draw is the parking- the shopping center has plenty of free parking.
My most recent dining experience here has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I ordered the Butter Chicken, something from the South Indian foods menu, and at the suggestion of the waiter, a garlic naan.
As you can see in the photos, I did not receive butter chicken. I'm not entirely sure what this is, or what it's supposed to be. The waiter, when asked "what is this?" claimed that it was butter chicken (which is clearly is not), and I ate it because it was 730pm on Sunday night and I just wanted to have dinner and didn't feel like arguing. It tasted burnt with a bit of pepper and ginger.
On the way out to my car, a pickup customer I had seen was coming back to return his "butter chicken", which was the same as what I'd received. He said I should've refused to eat it, and made a point that serving whatever this is, is not what was ordered. I shrugged.
Be wary coming here. Staff lies and the owner is a cocksure restauranteur. Had the audacity to speak badly of all the other Indian restaurants in the area- but I can guarantee that none of them would claim that whatever the photo labeled "butter chicken" is...

We ordered a generous spread to share between four people. The vegetable and meat samosas were packed with flavor, and the two sauces served alongside them were absolutely delicious. That said, the samosas were a bit overcookedâthe outer corners of the dough were hard to bite through.
The Chicken 65, lamb curry, curried eggplant, and masala dosa were all well-prepared and spiced to perfectionâthese were definitely highlights of the meal.
On the downside, both the crispy fish and one of the chicken dishes were unfortunately very dry and tough to chew. It seems like the fried items are routinely overcooked, which takes away from their potential.
Despite some inconsistencies in the food, we really enjoyed our dining experience overall. The staff was attentive, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. With a bit more attention to detail in the kitchenâespecially for the fried dishesâDesi Favors has the potential to be a five-star destination.
Weâll definitely be back to see...
