i don’t like to leave negative reviews, but i’m still feeling a bit queasy from the food an hour after eating so now i’m annoyed 😬 we ordered the pork belly buns and the soup dumplings. the service was good, the man who took our order and brought our food out was nice! atmosphere was fine. pricing was pretty fair for the amount of food. however, when the soup dumplings came out, i noticed that they looked nothing like the pictures in the reviews. they were smaller, and the wrapping was oddly thick and grainy. the meat inside was almost flavorless and the soup was just vaguely meaty, and it definitely gave me the Meat Ick. we ate 3/8 but couldn’t get anymore down. after reading other reviews, it seems that they serve 2 different kinds of soup dumplings. the nice ones in the pictures, and then once they run out of those, the cheaper ones that we were unlucky enough to get. the buns were less bad! the textures and composition were perfect, and the fresh ingredients and buns were good, but the sauce was also nearly flavorless☹️ we ate those just fine but were wishing they had more flavor! no disrespect to the owner or the employees, of course! not sure if it was just a bad time to come in since we went around 8 pm, but we were definitely...
Read moreMy wife discovered Chopstickers a couple of months ago, and we have ordered many times since. I'd never heard of -- let alone tasted -- "bao" before, but OMG... these little pockets of heaven are now a necessity of life!
We love the vegan water-fried bao, which are little savory dumplings filled with a tasty mix of vegetables, which you can top with a dash of spicy oil for an extra kick. I dare you to try to eat just one... they are SO good! The vegan dandan noodles are wonderful, too... the noodles themselves have a wonderful flavor and texture, and the sauce makes the flavors even better.
These are already delicious vegan options, and the proprietor mentioned other veg-forward dishes are in the works; a few months from now, there will likely be a few more menu options without meat or dairy.
Finally, I should mention that Chopstickers is a very economical takeout option, because the serving sizes are generous. Each order of bao represents two meals, and if you order noodles too, you'll get to enjoy this delicious food for a couple of days.
We are so happy we discovered Chopstickers and encourage you to...
Read moreAfter having a previous review of ours (my partner and I) deleted by the owner, I’ve decided to write another.
We ordered the chicken potstickers and the beef noodles. The potstickers had a decent flavor but the flavor of them was incredibly inconsistent and half of the pot stickers were underdone leaving raw chicken inside. The pot stickers were also really watery making for a soggy wrapping. The pot stickers that you get from a grocery store are honestly of a better quality than these. As for the beef noodles, the beef itself seemed to be rather large chunks of pot roast that were unseasoned and over cooked. The broth was nearly flavorless with seasoning that seemed to be nothing more than salt and onion. The veggies included with the noodles left something to be desired (the veggies were bok Chou and corn).
My partner ended up being sick most likely from the raw chicken and my stomach remained upset until the next day.
I spent nearly $30 on subpar food and am honestly disappointed.
Rather than wasting time and money here I’d suggest going to white tree for their chicken katsu, or Sally’s for their beef a...
