The Chinese food scene in Loveland has become quite bleak. Came to Elizabeth St because the Googling® of the intended, untried Hu Hot© revealed : Hu Hot Not Hot, and A cluster of asian-named restaurants here, and reviews of this place. Thank you, Google Map Guides! Saturday, 2:30PM. Business traffic was light. Was immediately greeted n seated, my choice of seat. Swiftly menu-fied, and pre-planned plan played out as I inquired as to the availability of the very dish I was craving, on the lunch menu. Yes! Too bad it were after the hour of 2, as no more lunch menu. Ordered as I envisioned it: Hot Sour Soup Spring Roll Kung Pao Beef - Spicy Tsing Tao beer So The soup was swift. Excellent balanced flavor profile. Hardly any chunks. Normally one would expect bits and pieces of tiger Lily bud and tree ear and bamboo root and chicken/pork etc... What I received much more closely resembled an finely blended egg-drop soup with a few chunks of stuff... not really anything to chew. No fried won-ton strips! Thank you. I liked it a lot. Just as I finished inhaling the soup, the 2 spring rolls, divided, appeared with a ramekin of sweet sauce. These were immediately rushed from the fryer. Light and fresh inside, indolently heavy oil feel and umami on the outside. Superb. Then immediately the kung Pao. Totally steaming hot. The peppers were nicely bite- size. Every one. And taken just past crisp-tender. Perfect. The sauce was spicy, not volcanic. I did not ask if the chef removed the hot chili pods after cooking or if the dish was prepared pod-free. There were no pods or seeds that I saw. Served with white sticky rice. Mostly booth / banquette seating, wheelchair accessible, free, not-so-ample parking. Plain Formica table coverings. Clean. Quiet ( it was 3pm) The decor was not belabored with overabundance Polite, efficient staff Highly...
Read moreThis is absolutely one of the best Asian food restaurants I’ve ever been to! Everything was amazing. We got the crab cheese wontons, egg rolls, wings, sesame chicken, side of fried rice, pad Thai and milk tea with tapioca boba. We ordered pick up to go.
The egg rolls and wontons were incredible, and the wings are unbelievable. So great that I like them better than restaurants specializing in wings which is crazy!! The sesame chicken was for sure the best I’ve ever had with great quality meat. The pad Thai was actually spicy, but not too much where it’s all pain and no enjoyment of the other flavors (I can never find anything spicy that hits the spot, so I’m glad it had some heat) and had sooo much flavor! I wish the rice had peas, broccoli and carrots in it, but I’ll have to try their fried rice dish next time we go. THE MILK TEA WITH BOBA? OUTSTANDING.. BEST I HAVE EVER HAD NO DOUBT. It was frozen, and sweet enough not to get watery as it melted. I even finished every drop after it completely melted, which I never do but it was that good! I recommend this to everyone in the area or even coming from out of town. Such an amazing, peasant experience. Also, their strawberry pocky was much better than what you can get at the store in America, and we tried an energy drink which tasted like better monster or Red Bull. I am beyond impressed. $70 for everything which I think is a great price and we had lots and lots of leftovers.. that we definitely finished!
It seems to be family owned, so I am grateful to support them. They deserve 5 stars, and all the love they can get!!! In fact, we’re going again tonight. We tried it for the first time a few days ago....
Read moreMy husband and I go here all the time. He went to pick up some food and didn't call ahead, we weren't concerned with the wait time as they seemed decently busy. Waited patiently for food for about 45 minutes and saw every other customer come in after him and leave before him even though most ordered as they arrived as well. Still waited for another 45 minutes before approaching the guy at the counter and asking how much longer. Saw them give the other customers that arrived and ordered after him the same things he ordered multiple time ,it wasn't even a big order 2 orders of Wonton, order of each fried and steamed dumpling and 1 order of orange chicken. Yes the other customers had smaller orders but the front counter person was instead rushing them out by taking half my order and splitting it up into their orders. Needless to say the moment I mentioned I had been waiting forever the guy behind the counter snapped at me and proceeded to be complete unprofessional and argue with me about how I'm still going to have to wait and then got to the point of almost becoming a physical altercation. His behavior was crude and beyond understanding how long he was there. Spoke to manager and they only comped for the 4 dollar Boba tea after she already stated she wouldn't charge due to the employee being so abrasive. We are in disbelief that an employee who is there to respect and acknowledge any customer problems, complaints or concerns handled a situation so unwell. Time waited...
