Overall, I think this place is overrated. I also hate that it's cash only. What year is it, again? The macarons are good if they're fresh, and the atmosphere is nice. I thought the food was average at best in general, but I had a poor service experience, which is what led to 2 stars instead of 3. For one, one of our orders must have been missed, because it came out so much later than the rest that we were mostly done eating when it arrived. While I was eating my meal, the server (Nick) came out and asked how the food was. I showed him where I had big clumps of solid, crystalline sugar between the layers of my crêpe and asked if that was to be expected (as in, maybe this is some bizarre French style for that particular selection). He replied that yes, sugar was a main ingredient in a crêpe (duh). I replied, "No, I mean in big clumps like this." And he said that there must have been some sugar "caught up in it" (??). No offer to remake the item or remove it from the bill. This was not just a chunk of sugar, this was so much sugar that the first two bites I took were gritty and overloaded with sugar. The picture below shows how much sugar I scraped off of just the edges, but this much sugar was sandwiched into the entire thing. This was not normal, and any well-trained server would have taken care of it in some way.

Excellent place for breakfast and conquering that sweet tooth craving. French bistro type decor was awesome. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The vibe, aroma of coffee and buttery goodness was overwhelming on a mouth-watering way. Besides the must-have coffee, we started off with a half-order of crepes and all the yummy toppings that came with the plate! Moved on to the Cocotte Brioche - with Mozzarella, Tomato, two poached eggs and Basil…topped in Hollandaise sauce and potatoes on the side. My guest had the French Breakfast burrito with everything you would find in a breakfast burrito in addition to the added bacon all rolled up in a buckwheat Galette. We headed over to the bakery side and picked up a few items to go. Prices are spot on for everything; I expected to pay more! They only take cash so have some on hand. Minus the tip, I paid $45 for my entire meal…wow. Find me on Instagram and Facebook under “NocoPalatePushers” where I share my NoCo food and beverage adventures. Please give this place a try!

It was my first time in this restaurant/bakery and I had a pleasant time. The Crepe I had (Fresh pears, chocolate ganache, roasted almonds, and some other things) was very good! It also reheated very well! I would say the only negatives are that it's really busy so be prepared to wait 45 minutes, even if google says 15. A reservation may be best if they offer it. It was also pretty cramped, not much room and def not much privacy if your talking about something serious. Which their atmosphere is very uplifting, so it's perfect for a fun brunch! They are cash only, so bring your cash but they do have an ATM inside. The ATM fee was only $1.80 which is the lowest I've ever seen! So that was cool. The staff was amazing despite the wait. They attended to everything with great mannerisms and even helped me pronounce the crepe I ordered. Over all I think this is a lovely restaurant and may visit on occasions as I'm not a huge fan of cramped spaces or crowds.

I really hate to have to leave a one star review of this restaurant, we are usually very happy with our experience and food is nearly always delicious. Not today.

We were greeted properly and quickly with an expected 45ish minute wait on a Sunday morning. After waiting our turn, we were seated by the hostess and she brought our kids waters with lids and straws. So far, pretty typical and nothing to comment on. Our server, Alyssa, took well over 15 minutes to even come to our table, let alone get us a drink other than the water the hostess offered when we were seated. The French Toast that one of us always orders had JUST ran out, presumably while we were waiting to place our order. We rolled with the punches and chose another meal and ordered.

Empty coffee mug, water carafe and abnormally patient kids and another 45 minutes later and our food was proudly served to us by Alyssa, without a word of the delayed service. The crepes were fine for the kids, the sandwhich that replaced the French Toast and the burrito were cold. They were not seasoned well, and we were asked if we had an issue with the door being open behind us, but not if we needed anything other than a refill of our long empty coffees.

I spent several years in the service industry as a server and bartender and am usually a heavy tipper. When the check was dropped about 8 minutes into our meal, so did the chance of a valid tip. Interestingly, while watching and waiting for our food, it felt as if we were purposefully being avoided by the staff.

Not sure if we can come back, maybe everyone was just off their game? Definitely treated poorly, possibly because of our children, who were amazing and patient waiting for a sub-par meal that took too long to come...

After not having been in for a while, I decided to stop by and visit with my wife and friend who eat lunch at The Crêperie every Thursday. I did not have (what used to be my favorite sandwich), The Turkey Club; instead I had a piece of decadently rich, flavorful, DARK chocolate cake. To me, this is where the Crêperie really shines: DESSERTS!! I was torn between this cake and another made with Grand Marnier. In the end, however, the DARK chocolate won out. Combined with a cup of coffee made tasty with an Irish Creme flavored creamer they keep on the tables for customers, it not only made lunch but made my day. I was particularly happy when "Lucy" turned out to be our wait-person. She was made manager there a year or two ago, and I lost touch, as she stepped away from waiting, probably to provide hours for others. It was a pleasure to speak with her again. She IS from France, and speaks with the most delightful accent. The Crêperie recently had a menu re-do, which means, of course, an increase in prices. It doesn't matter though . . . whatever food of this caliber costs, I'll pay, as I've found you really cannot put a price on quality. UPDATE: I went to the Crêperie again yesterday and had the Turkey Club and the Grand Marnier dessert. OH MY GOSH! I am SO glad this restaurant is just a few miles from my house. This week I spoke with the owner, "Claude", who told me something about himself and his little place. As it turns out, the three girls who were working that day were all French! And cute as can be, as well as good servers. We have begun going at 12:30 to miss the rush; it worked pretty well on this last visit. Lucy said the optimum time is probably 12:15. It doesn't really matter: Whatever the wait,...

I'm disappointed to have to give this review because I know that it probably isn't always like this, and I'm not very particular. It was just such a negative experience.

  1. the wait to get a table was 40 minutes. This makes sense, as it was a Sunday afternoon. The hostess called when a table was ready and was very polite.

  2. after ordering, the food took 45 minutes to arrive. The server was inattentive and did not explain the lengthy wait

  3. when the food arrived, it was actually cold. The potatoes would have probably been delicious, but they were cold in the center. The brioche at least had some heat, just as though it had been sitting for a while. I told the server, there was no apology, but I did get warm potatoes delivered. However, it was after I was finished with the rest of my meal.

  4. I had to get the server's attention to get service the two times it was needed, and also to ask for the check. After receiving the check, we waited another 20 minutes before being able to get the server's attention to get change.

Even though the wait was beyond long, which I could overlook, the food was actually cold, and the service was slow and had to be requested, there was no acknowledgement of this either in words or in compensation of a coffee or anything. I'm disappointed in the service. I understand that it can be busy, and I don't think I'd leave a negative review if it were just one thing that was off. I hope this is not indicative of the norm at...
