I ordered an omelette with chorizo sausage mushrooms onions peppers and cheese. The meal is to come with potatoes and toast and I also ordered a small orange juice. The restaurant did not seem overly busy yet the waitress came across very rushed and was not very informative when asked questions about the types of peppers that are served in the omelet or about the options for the potatoes on the side. She did not offer any types of jams and the toast came buttered but came with only apple butter on the side when I thought there was other options?
I received the proper size orange juice, but it did seem odd that it took an excessive amount of time before receiving the meal.
Upon receiving the meal I can tell you that the omelette was nice and hot and look to have been decently prepared I was disappointed that the only peppers inside were a bell pepper I would have thought a restaurant like this could offer Anaheim Mexican peppers to go with a Mexican type omelette
First watch has their own version of potatoes which was served with the omelet they are a cut potato and the actual potatoes were fried but they were cold compared to the omelet and a locked any taste of value
I will also tell you that apple butter is not my favorite option to go with toast I did receive wheat toast buttered I was hoping for a fruit jam like raspberry or strawberry and when I received apple butter it was okay but definitely is not one of my favorite to go with a Mexican omelet
I would finally tell people that this restaurant does not have a care about picking up when people leave a table as I saw several tables that they left for a busser that seem to be the only buser of the restaurant. Four groups of people left tables and there was one bus or trying to bus tables and I counted seven different tables with dishes and unclean tables at the time that I left.
As a former professional chef I would say that the overall rating that I would give on this restaurant of this first watch group would be 2.5 stars and I could not recommend it to the public as the waitresses gather behind the prep station and chat more than they get out and communicate and check on their customers.
Very disappointing The cleanliness was at best a one and a half star and I could not recommend people to visit...
Read moreI went there for a quick lunch today. Blake was pleasant enough, but to be fair not on his game. I ordered the bacon, chive, cheddar cornbread ( it was much bigger than I expected) and a BOWL of tomato basil soup. He brought the cornbread within minutes ( it was room temp-I would have preferred piping hot) and then a CUP of soup not long after. I asked “Is this a BOWL” ? It sure looked like a cup to me. He replied ‘yes, that is a bowl of soup’. I was perplexed but dug in. The savory cornbread had nice flavors and the soup was decent ( It was piping hot which was great). When Blake checked back and asked how everything was I replied “it’s fine, thank you”. Shortly thereafter he brought the check and said ‘no rush, I’ll just leave this for when you are ready’. I was ‘ready’ within five minutes but kept looking for him so that I could get a box for the 75% remaining cornbread. I looked at the bill, and sure enough I was charged for a CUP of soup. I would have said something before but he told me it indeed ( clearly a cup) was their BOWL of soup. I never saw him in the restaurant again so I asked another server for a box, paid my bill, and left. I reiterate, pleasant young man but not the greatest experience. Not sure if he didn’t want to tell me ‘oh , I apologize, you DID say a bowl-I’ll be right back with that’ but my bill clearly reflected the cup. Yes, first world problem I agree, not complaining-just trying to leave a...
Read moreToday was our first visit to the Egg and I. When we first walked in it took a couple minutes for anyone to come to the front of the restaurant. This felt a little odd since the establishment was nearly empty and was well staffed. We noticed this every time a new customer walked in that they were waiting to be seated.
We were seated by the manager and greeted by a friendly server. We ordered the Parisan Benedict and the Denver Omelette and coffee. To begin with the coffee was very good. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable and I appreciate the healthy menu options. I do wish they would offer gluten free bread, but there were several options that made it work. Both our meals were good, my omelette could have used a little more time, the peppers were hard and it needed a little more cheese or a sauce. The side of fruit was really sad and wilted so I didn't eat that. My husband's meal was tasty, but not special. We enjoyed it but not sure if we would come back, we want to be wowed and this visit just didn't do that. We might give it another try. On a side note, it's not appetizing to see staff eating in sight of the customers, it's kind of gross....
