Would give 0 stars if possible. Food is good, but.......food is NOT homemade. Items for sale are marked up 300%. Staff treated poorly unless you're related tp them. Ladies and gentlemen my fiancé left a month ago. She's heavyset and didn't meet their "expectations". Ask Deb (owner) what she requires her staff to wear. Then ask her to show you the kitchen where your food is prepared. Then ask where her health and safety inspections are. I guarantee she can't produce that public record. There is 1 person that works the kitchen that is food safety certified. No hairnet? Fine! Open toed shoes? Sure! As long as they're cute!! Gloves to serve food? Girl!!! So optional!!! Can't cover up those pretty manicured nails!!! And OMG!!! Don't visit in the summer!!! That pesky air conditioner isn't gonna work! Next door at the gift shop, hope it isn't raining because it's gonna rain inside too! If it wasn't for the owners having the city inspector in the palm of her hand......according to the owner (Deb). Even the owner of the building is tired of it. Do yourself a favor and save the $30 plus you're going to spend on items you can make that she bought to serve you from Aldi's. Her stock at thyme to shop is soooo not exclusive. Another lie she says to her potential customers. Buyer...
Read moreThis is a classy place to bring friends or family who are visiting Fort Dodge, or for special occasions like Valentine's Day dinner, but it's also nice just to go there on a date. Family-run & owned; sophisticated yet whimsical atmosphere; classical music; candle-lit, white table cloth dining; cozy (make a reservation); reasonably priced; good for large groups, too; huge dessert menu; charming gift shop; romantic.
We went for a company party and had almondine chicken breast with carrots & mashed potatoes with a garlic roll. Hubby had roast beef. They serve beer & wine.
The food was like having a home-cooked American meal on a special occasion. Very tasty. As for desserts, that night they had rhubarb crisp on special, served warm a la mode- delicious! We also brought desserts home for the kids: turtle cheesecake, French silk pie, Oreo mint chocolate pie, and double chocolate cake. What a hit! Good idea for dessert only, with coffee or tea.
We will definitely...

The "gift shop" is full of over-priced brick-a-brack (that you can buy at Hobby Lobby for 3x less). The tea room was dark and lit with candles at noon, which had a nice Halloween vibe. The chicken pasta salad I ordered had been around too long and the pasta was mushy. If there were 3 bites of chicken in it, that would be a stretch. The "broccoli soup" was thick, gelatinous and off-tasting, with 2 tiny pieces of a broccoli floret. I didn't detect ANY form of dairy in that soup. There were about 3 grapes and 2 tiny pieces of melon, along with ONE bite of pineapple. The "sweet bread" was what appeared to be a very small slice of pumpkin bundt cake. All this for a checkout price of just over $13. There's a little ambiance in the dining room, but the food isn't...
