This place was an absolute treat to find during our travels through FL. We were really only expecting "chain restaurant" tbh but at that point we didn't care because we were hungry...lol. Our minds were completely changed from the first second that we walked through the door. Amazingly friendly people, super inviting atmosphere, great service and above everything else...the food was amazing. The prices were right and the food was so good that we actually ordered some to take with us since we were only traveling through the area. As we were eating our food, we hopped on Google to leave a review and we're shocked by some of the negative reviews that were posted. We even got chatting with a couple that was at a table next to us who said that they have been going there since it semi recently opened. They told us that it has been their go-to spot since the first time that they ate there. After speaking with them and our own amazing experience, all we can figure is that these negative reviews must be from a disgruntled ex-employee or someone that is just completely unreasonable.
P.S. - if you ever stop in and get a chance to speak with one of the owners (it was a guy but I can't remember his name) Make sure to take a moment and chat with him. Just from chatting with him, you can tell that the reason that the place is such a great place, many with so many great employees is because the example of how to be a human...
Read moreI ordered 2 bowls- tuna and salmon. I will say, there may be too many options for toppings. Keeping it simpler would be a better bet- I prefer dry and fermented/vinegar toppings like radish, cucumbers, then maybe fresh scallions. The sauces were great BUT there’s not enough just tossing them with the fish. That brings me to the next part… the fish did not taste fresh and had some “off”moments- they don’t add soy or ponzu to lightly marinate the tuna so it’s super gamey. The workers have to waste a waxed cardboard container each time to measure the amount of fish in each serving. The white rice was overcooked and mushy, and the greens were dried out.
I managed to get a Thai boba tea- they don’t put ice for some reason, and tried a spicy spam roll which was fine. I won’t be going again though, sadly. I was really hoping for a great poke place nearby.
Add- my husband and I both had the tuna that didn’t taste right and we both got ill. Red flag was how the fish was stored uncovered and not refrigerated. Every good poke place I’ve been to always had the fish refrigerated in a sealed container, even if it slowed down service.
Edit: In response to the owner- this particular day, there was definitely no ice in the boba milk tea and the tuna was not covered and chilled. The address is correct. It happens and we certainly...
