We decided to take a quick day trip from Orlando to the Fort Lauderdale Beach Area and ended up having a great dining experience at Steelpan Kitchen & Bar located in the Sonesta Hotel situated directly across the beach on the A1A. Their outdoor seating area was spacious and provided an island ambiance with the sound of the waves and a light ocean breeze coming in. Our server Amy was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made suggestions based on our likes. The menu, with American-Caribbean fusion dishes, had just the right amount of choices to give us options yet not overwhelm us. We started with their Callaloo Artichoke Dip, then tried their Blackened Mahi, Island Coconut Shrimp Tacos, and Mahi Sandwich for our main course. We ended with a trio of their desserts which included the Lava Chocolate Fantasy, Steelpan Coconut Shell Sundae, and my absolute favorite, Key Lime Pie. All in all, it was a great dining experience from start to finish and we have decided to book a weekend to celebrate our upcoming 18th wedding anniversary.

My mom's 61st birthday was on July 31st and I called to see if they would be able to accommodate 13 people. If they couldn't I was going to find another place that could. I called them several times and got the voice-mail. So I left messages with my name, number and asking if they could accommodate 13 people. Also I did the contact us form on their website and to this day August 7th I haven't received a call back nor did I receive an email back from the contact us. It's sad because my mom liked the menu and wanted to try it for her birthday. We ended up at Black Rock instead and she still had a great time. I'm just disappointed in the treatment of this restaurant and how they let my mother and me down for her special day.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff, laid back staff. Looks like the place also offers a breakfast buffet. My husband and me were more interested in a la carte/brunch options. Their brunch begins at 11 am, but I got my salad at 9 am -- my husband could not get his ceviche 🤔. I got one if the smallest mimosas I've had. My husband had a cocktail, all at breakfast, so the brunch/breakfast boundaries were hazy. The place definitely. The portions could be more generous but the prices were not bad. One thing tho, the place includes 18% gratuity. We didn't read so the staff got that and a tip. The place is Ok.

My wife and I had a great Valentine's day experience. I tried to book last minute. Even though they were fully booked, we spoke to the chef and he was able to squeeze us in early. The food and experience was excellent. We had a few tropical drinks that complimented the Caribbean fusion food well. The crab corn bisque was tasty and went well with our salad. My coconut shrimp tacos were delicious. My wife had grilled Mahi cooked perfectly. As locals, we will definitely return to this restaurant that treated us like family and served us great food at a reasonable price.

I was excited to try this after reading many positive reviews. However, despite the food being delicious, the customer service was poor. I had to wait 10 minutes just to be acknowledged by the waitress(young black lady with long ponytail) and she didn’t refill my water or bring paper napkins as requested (I went ahead and asked someone else to bring it to me and refill my water) and I had to wait over THIRTY minutes for my food. And she could of apologized for the wait but she didn’t and she didn’t even check on me during that thirty minute wait.

Wow! This Restaurant is really amazing. I came here for lunch and after choosing where I wanted to sit I ordered the impossible burger. It was easily the best burger I have ever eaten in my life. It was also served very quickly. As a bonus, if you order it without the mayonnaise, it’s completely vegan. The service was also quick and very friendly. The interior is nice and clean as well. All in all, great food, great service, and a great restaurant. I will definitely come here again.
