OWNERS... sit back and read this one.. you deserve it!
What a Gem this place is. The Chef is a sweet heart young lady and the other chef in the back portion of the kitchen is hustling, both bringing out some beautiful dishes that would make any TOP CHEF in Peru very proud!
I must say we tried Ceviche a few times out in Fort Ldle area during our trip, however Kousine beautifully delivers a Chilled Ceviche dish topped with just the right amount of Calamari. BTW- We can eat Ceviche everyday of we are on the beach.
The Ceviche Trio was was spot on. Mix ceviche, tuna tartare, and a traditional ceviche. Very Tasty and all very unique tastes.
The Chaufa Stir fried rice was very tasty, clean and NOT oily as you’d expect fried rice to be- Which was nice for our taste buds.
The Lomo Saltado Steak stir fry was soft and perfectly charred and juicy. If you are a steak lover- get this dish.
The Green Spaghetti dish that comes with Lomo Steak was not heavy and just right.
The Chicken and Steak Skewers were delicious and beautifully plated.
The Chocolate cake and Lucoma Cake are both insanely delicious. That’s IF you have room. If not. Trust me- take them both back to your place and re-chill before eating so you can enjoy as you would in the restaurant.
The passion that the chefs and owners have for their food definitely show up on the plates being delivered to the tables.
All servers were a delight to speak to and know their food.
The staff, chefs and owners seem to be moving with the determination to deliver high quality without decreasing its future quality. As an investor, I respect that very much.
With this type of cooking, the only problem I see in Kousine’s future is ... no empty tables for anyone to sit.
It’s on the beach, service is great, staff is excellent and the food is delicious..... the drinks are ice cold.... what else do you need?
Well done Kousine! We can’t wait to bring everyone in the August family...
Read moreWe had a truly magical dining experience at Kousine and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a unique foodie restaurant. We were not sure what to expect from a hole in the wall restaurant located in a shopping strip between a pub and a liquor store. The table setting is very basic, although dining on the terrace overlooking the ocean is always a treat in and of itself. But the surprise of the evening was the food. OMG heavenly Peruvian dishes executed in the most perfect way. Flavors out of this world, delicious herbs and spices, all dishes blew our mind! Our favorite was probably the Pulpo & Calamares saltados, served with anticuchera sauce, botija aioli, chimichurri sauce, yellow and purple potatoes, and mixed greens. Of course we had to sample a ceviche, and the Ceviche Kousine, with tuna, yellow pepper and passion fruit, nori, avocado and cucumber, did not disappoint. The empanadas (shrimp and beef) were both perfect, well seasoned and not greasy at all. For dessert we tried the quinoa pudding Manjar Quinoa and the Suspiro Limeno, both worth trying, especially the quinoa. The wine selection is limited but some good options are available (we chose a Cabernet). Our waitress was adorable, limited English skills but we managed to understand each other perfectly. She was working non stop all over the place yet very efficient. Peruvian cuisine deserves to get more recognition. It can be very healthy and when you find a gem like this, you wish you could eat there more often. Next time we are in Fort Lauderdale, we already know where we'll be heading for dinner! Don't miss this treasure!...
Read moreNever wrought reviews before , but now I feel I have to. Chief is amazing and the main thing is that I was in Peru several times and I’m in love with Peruvian cuisine. I was in several Peruvian places in big Miami but this one is not only really authentic but amazingly good even to compare with the best restaurants in Lima. And I remember one, with a similar concept as a simple street food spot Peruvian style honored with two Michelin stars. I got a chance to have dinner in this place due to lucky chance to be invited by one of local heavy guys. Usually people have to book a table in a few month in advance. It’s Chez Wong place. So, style of the food and concept reminds me Chief Wong’s way of cooking. I decided to ask if the Chief was on a kitchen and I was lucky to shake his hand in a minute and found out that Danny is a nephew of Chez Wong - famous Michelin star Chief!!! Sorry the terrible quality of the pics (dishes disappeared in a few seconds) but taste was AMAZING!!! as well as a performance. It is always challenge to feed my kids but they were happy in spite of the fact that it is just a street food spot not a Fine Dining place.
Good luck and my best wishes. Sheared your location in all my socials. Will go tomorrow for dinner...
