As of last year, they used to have an off leash area is between Lifeguard Post 15 and 16 from 3pm-7pm on the weekends, but it looks like they changed the hours AND the ability to have your dog off leash. Parking is on the street.

Rules & Regulations
Dogs shall be kept on a leash, maximum of 6-feet in length, at all times.
All dogs must have current vaccination and license.
Owners must be responsible for their pets. Aggressive dogs may be removed at the City’s discretion.
Dog owners shall be responsible for disposing of all fecal matter deposited by their dog.
Dogs shall not create a nuisance by causing any form of disturbance such as excessive barking or any similar conduct.

Read moreWe had a blast! This beach, as far as I know, is only open in the weekends so check the website to be sure (just Google "Fort Lauderdale Dog Beach"). Also it was only open to dogs after 3pm. We got there around six and there were hardly any dogs there. It was not overwhelmingly packed which was great since we are wary of dogs we don't know. Please remember that if your dog is not friendly with other dogs then you should find somewhere private for them to play. Pick up after your pooch or these wonderful outlets for our dogs could be taken away and respect the humans at the beach.
