Turnwater Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Fort Madison

I know the restaurant is new but they really need to get their act together. We visited on a very busy Saturday night and had to sit in the bar area since the main dining section was completely full. Our server said we could use the bar code on the table card to order our food online which seemed super helpful. We ordered our food at 6:40 pm. By 7:40 we didn't have our food so we asked the bar area waitress if she would check on the order. About 10 minutes later she brought the food out at about the same time we got a text notification letting us know our food was on the way. When the food showed up it was cold. Not even "warm" but completely cold. The fries that came with my sandwich were cold and they were all small crumbs. My BALT sandwich was cold although still not bad. My husband's tacos were very cold and there were more onions than anything else. Only one or two pieces of meat, a leaf of cilantro and a bunch of onions. For the money, the three taco meal is just not worth the money.

We know that the restaurant was super busy that night. And we don't think it was the bar area waitress' responsibility to ensure our food made it to our table. I just really think they need to take a step back and try to get it together. We love the venue and it's so nice to have such a nice, new choice in the area fod dining. We just hope they are able to overcome...

Visited tonight for the first time since the “ update” of waiting to be seated/ waitress service. Not sure how to call it. My family and I have been visiting pretty much biweekly since it opened in spring of 2024 and it was honestly disappointing. We really enjoyed the ordering at the door and finding your own seat and self service. In the time it took to wait for the hostess, sit down and wait for our server to come greet us. We could have ordered, sat down gotten our own drinks plus some. When we were greeted by the server it was a “ what can I get you to eat?” We replied well.. we haven’t even our drinks? They replied “ you can do it all at once” … okay so it’s not your typical restaurant's experience. There was incorrect food modification which is fully understandable, people are people and they make mistakes. After visiting for so long we all felt pretty sad about the change. We will still continue to visit because we’ve all been large advocates of the turn water and the atmosphere. Anyone who asks anyone in our family what we think it’s always “ you gotta go!!” I hope this was a true change you thought would improve the overall well being on the restaurant and not being bullied by boomers who don’t like change....

Fries cold and soggy, burgers burnt and dry. Tacos have no flavor. They could not find my tab after running my card. Took 10 minutes to get a drink with 4 bartenders standing around, I had to stand up and wave my hands to get them to stop talking and cash me out. Not impressed at all, management really needs to step up. One bartender gave me a glass of sprite instead of a 7 and 7 like I ordered then lied, I’ve never seen a clear drink with whiskey in it. Then she admits later she could not find my tab either. So we have a bar tender Lying to the customers and/or steeling from the company. They have a ton of employees and it’s a pain ordering at the counter with groups of people. It’s a bad design and badly managed. On top of everything I check my bank account and they charged me 3 times for 2 orders this place is a joke!!!! Apparently someone at the bar can not spell or read so after they could not find my tab they charged me for my drinks 2 times one charge is $35.00 for 2 seven and sevens. This place is a complete joke!!!! Food not great, service sucks not much better than...
