I grew up in the area, and visited Benson’s MANY times. Especially during my college years. I’ve always loved their breakfast foods, and their club sandwich. I moved away six years ago…and my husband, daughter, and I try to visit my family back in that area once a year. Four years ago - I introduced my husband and daughter to Benson’s. Ever since then - they insist on us going when we are in the area. We visited this past week, and were reminded why we always work it into our trips back home. My husband ordered his absolute favorite - the Gotcha breakfast. It was around 11:30 AM when we went - so I branched out and ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. My daughter went with their chicken tender combo. My husband’s GOTCHA breakfast was, as usual, phenomenal. If you’ve never gotten this…& you’re a breakfast food fan - GET IT. It’s got EVERYTHING. My chicken sandwich was mediocre. I’ve always LOVED everything I’ve ever gotten from here, so I won’t base my review off this particular sandwich. Like I said - I love ALL their breakfast foods…& the club sandwich is my fave. I should’ve gone that route. However - I got curly fries with my chicken sandwich…& they were some of the best curly fries I’ve ever gotten. And I’m not even a huge French fry fan, typically. SO YUMMY. My daughter’s chicken strip meal was SO YUMMY. The chicken strips were a perfect balance of breading and meat…& had a delicious flavor. Her fries were also phenomenal. Both her and my meals came with a side salad…& it was really yummy. Our waitress, and everyone else we encountered at Benson’s (as usual) was so incredibly sweet, helpful, and friendly. Everyone there always seems so cheerful…& it’s so nice. We will definitely be back next time when we’re in the area. Even in all of our travels - we have yet to find a place that comes close...
Read moreI am just shocked and very disappointed in my past 3 experiences with this place. Went from being my favorite late night place to eat to I will never be back again 3 strikes you’re out. Strike 1: 1st time my fiancé ordered his steak very well done and when he cut into it the steak was in a pool of blood on the plate but he was too nice and didn’t want to send it back he ate as much as he could, strike 2: 2nd time I ordered a hamburger with mustard and pickles ONLY NOTHING ELSE when I got my order it had mayo cheese the whole works of course I sent it back and watched the cook scrape the cheese off my burger and the mayo with a knife then put the same patty on a new bun and the waitress brought the nasty burger back over to me and I said absolutely not I want a fresh burger made I just sat and watched what happened and then tonight Strike 3 and never again ONCE AGAIN I order the same burger as I did the last time wanted it the same way as I have always ordered it there and YET AGAIN I get my burger with mayo and everything else on it I send it back again I watch the waitress take it back to the cook and told him how it was suppose to be he says “well that’s the way it was ordered” had attitude that he had to remake another burger the correct way I ordered it and to top it off there was a waitress I assume she was just wondering around we ask could we please get some ketchup she just looks at us and walks off never saying a word never getting us the ketchup my fiancé had to go to another table himself and get some ketchup. Tonight’s experience solidified that we will never go back there again. Bensons was for so long my favorite and I have always loved their hamburgers but nope they have lost my...
Read moreBenson Grill: The Elevated Diner Experience You Didn't Know You Needed (Especially After a Few) Benson Grill is one of those places that just gets it. If you're looking for a late-night (or early-morning) haven that goes beyond your typical greasy spoon, this is your spot. My recent visit left me with a clear impression: it's definitely a place to go when you are drunk and trying to sober up. But don't let that singular purpose define it entirely. Think of Benson Grill as a higher-end Waffle House – a familiar comfort, but with a noticeable upgrade in quality and execution. What makes Benson Grill stand out in this "elevated diner" category? For starters, the food hits that perfect balance of comforting and satisfying. While I haven't tried their entire menu (yet!), the buzz around their grilled potatoes with cheese sauce and juicy burgers certainly piqued my interest. The portions are generous, designed to truly fill you up, which is exactly what you need after a long night out. The atmosphere strikes a sweet spot between classic diner charm and a slightly more polished feel. It's welcoming and unpretentious, making it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal, whether you're with a group of friends or flying solo. The service is often quick and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience, especially when you're in need of a speedy and efficient refuel. So, while Benson Grill might become your new go-to for those specific, late-night "sobering up" missions, it's also a genuinely good spot for a satisfying, unpretentious meal any time of day. It takes the beloved, no-frills diner concept and adds a touch of refinement, making it a truly valuable addition to the...
