There are very few things in life I enjoy more than eating and boy did we find a nice little gem tonight. All credit goes to my brother Bill Priakos who called me yesterday and said I found this new spot. We need to go! OK I’m in The place is Noodles and Crawfish, and to my complete embarrassment I discovered it’s not only not new. It’s been around for about nine months and it’s less than five minutes from my house IN traffic. We descended on the place like a swarm of ravenous locust, to say we were hangry, would be an understatement. My brother Bill, his wife Kathy McKenzie Priakos, and my lovely wife Kaori Toyota, well we were ordering spring rolls before we sat down. Yeah, we were hungry. I can state unequivocally, that next to the ones my wife makes, that might be the best freshest spring roll I’ve ever had and the peanut sauce was absolutely killer. So what did we eat. Well the menu’s got a lot of choices but for me if I see the word vermicelli bowl with char grilled pork, you can pretty much bet that’s what I’m getting. This was an exemplary version of a classic. When I first looked at it, I said well that doesn’t look like it’ll fill me up. Well that’s before I got into it! my goodness, the quality of the ingredients, the snap of the vegetables they could not have been fresher and down at the bottom, that was probably more grilled pork than I’ve ever seen in vermicelli bowl they don’t skimp it also with a Vietnamese egg roll that was textbook perfect. The sauce has just a hint of spice that was a very nice surprise. Kaori and Bill both has large Pho. As you can tell from my wife’s name, she’s probably Asian right? If she likes it, it’s legit. it’s legit. And in her gentle and polite way she told me she would be happy to come back. well it was a little stronger than that, but I probably can’t post that here. more along the lines of why haven’t you brought me here sooner? Had a chance to speak with the owner, his name is Mai. Turns out we both spent a lot of time in Houston so we swapped some war stories. Turns out the real star of the show here is probably their seafood as the name crawfish would indicate, but they also have snow crab shrimp and of course crawfish. If I can get past the vermicelli, I’ll try some of that next time, but the vermicelli is worth coming back for and so is the Pho. This is the kind of mom and Pop operation you absolutely have to root for so get on over there and give them a shot If you haven’t already . I didn’t take any photos because hangry trumps pics but I found this one that looks like a feast. Prices are moderate, food choices broad, based on tonight the execution of the recipes is near flawless and portion sizes are a great value. Noodles and Crawfish...
Read moreGood company bad food🤷🏽♀️ Look I love food but I just couldn’t get with the bland taste of everything except our fried chicken wings, we got lemon pepper flavor and it was delicious. The service was good but seemed the girls was tired but friendly. The combination pho had no flavor, the sizzling beef plate ( small plate) the combination lomein was a big NO. The meat was chopped too think and big hard to eat chunks and the grease had made a big puddle. Our spring rolls 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ taste like they were premade so it can be easier to serve them quickly but, I’d rather have made-to-order spring rolls, must hard and chewy!!! I spend almost $70. But got a military discount so ended up spending a little under $60. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY if you’re into big bold flavors and enjoy high quality ingredients. DO YOU though👍🏽 Overall I won’t be back but I tipped because they were some sweet professional girls, I’m glad we tried it and I hope they can...
Read moreFood was average at best. We got the combination lo mein and the General Tao's chicken. General Tao's chicken was cold when it came out. The shrimp did not match the pictures on the menu. The shrimp in the picture was big plump pieces. What came in the dish was the smallest shrimp I've ever seen. Probably 100-125 count to make a pound that you buy in a bag at Walmart. And the bad thing, you only got 4 shrimp on the plate. Chicken had a very odd taste. They were out of crawfish. I realize crawfish season is over. But if it's in the name, I'd figure out how to have it all the time.
The good- noodles were cooked nice and tasted good after adding a touch of salt, some soy sauce, and chili oil. Fried rice was excellent. The vegetables in the lol mein were cooked perfectly. The service was great. Food was on the table less than 10 minutes after we ordered. Hopefully they get...
