Don Cha, an exquisite Peruvian restaurant, offers a splendid gastronomic experience by serving a range of authentic dishes that promise to transport your taste buds to the heart of Peru. The attention to detail, quality ingredients, and impeccable flavors in each dish make dining at Don Cha a truly memorable encounter. The Maracuya drink, a delightful passion fruit beverage, was the perfect way to begin our dining adventure. Refreshing and tangy, it awakened our senses and prepared us for the culinary delights that lay ahead. As we progressed to our main courses, the Tacu Tacu Milanesa de Pollo immediately caught our attention. The dish featured a generous portion of crispy, breaded chicken served atop a bed of perfectly seasoned tacu tacu—a traditional mixture of rice and beans. The marriage of textures and flavors was superb, making this dish an absolute must-try. The Ensalada de Pollo showcased the lighter side of Peruvian cuisine. This refreshing salad featured tender, well-seasoned chicken, tossed with a variety of crisp vegetables and dressed with a tangy vinaigrette. The dish was a delightful burst of fresh flavors that invigorated the palate. Of course, the Lomo Saltado did not disappoint. This classic Peruvian stir-fry boasted succulent strips of beef cooked with tomatoes, onions, and peppers in a savory sauce. Served with fluffy white rice and crispy golden fries, this dish was a masterful symphony of flavors that left us yearning for more. The Pollo Broaster, a Peruvian-style fried chicken, was the epitome of comfort food. Expertly seasoned and fried to golden perfection, the chicken was both juicy and crispy. The warm, inviting ambiance and exceptional service at Don Cha only served to enhance our dining experience. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and ensuring our satisfaction at every turn. In conclusion, Don Cha is an extraordinary culinary destination for anyone seeking to explore the authentic and diverse flavors of Peruvian cuisine. Read moreAfter a day of meeting with my real estate clients, we decided to eat at this local Peruvian spot. My dining experience at Don Cha was an intriguing mix of great flavors and sensations. The restaurant managed to impress in several areas such as cleanliness, atmosphere and service, while falling a bit short in others.
Let's start with the stars of the show: the Lomo Saltado, Grilled Chicken Breast, and Grilled Fish. The Lomo Saltado was a delightful fusion of tender beef strips, sautéed vegetables, and perfectly cooked fries. The harmony of flavors and textures was exceptional, and I couldn't get enough. I would recommend asking for the "Rocotto" hot sauce as it pairs great with any dish.
The Grilled Chicken Breast was a triumph in simplicity. Moist, well-seasoned, and cooked to golden brown perfection. And the Grilled Fish was just as tasty. The fish was flaky and infused with a subtle smokiness from the grill, making each bite an absolute delight for the picky eater of the bunch.
However, not every dish hit the mark. The Papa a la Huancaina, unfortunately, left much to be desired. While the dish had potential, the execution fell short. The sauce lacked the rich and creamy texture I was expecting, one particular flavor overpowered while other flavors seemed a bit muted. It's a shame that this traditional Peruvian dish didn't live up to its reputation at Don Cha, nonetheless they had an array of other dishes. (They removed it from my bill)
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, and the staff which seemed family owned was attentive, which added to the overall dining experience. The passion for Peruvian cuisine was evident in the presentation and attention to detail.
In conclusion, my visit to Don Cha was a journey of highs and lows. The Lomo Saltado, Grilled Chicken Breast, and Grilled Fish undoubtedly showcased the culinary skills of the chefs. On the flip side, the Papa a la Huancaina fell short of expectations. If you're looking for a Peruvian dining adventure, I recommend giving Don Cha a try – just be mindful of...
Read moreCall me exaggerated but I know the Inca Gods would agree with me. My Husband is Peruvian and we eat Peruvian food often and it’s truly an amazing cuisine, my husband and I agreed it didn’t represent the flavors at all. Upon entering the establishment we were nicely greeted we started ordering but since we had water we decided we didn’t want any drinks and that’s when the waitress decided to tell us that our tumblers weren’t allowed in the establishment, ok whatever my husband got up and went to go put them in the truck. The atmosphere was promising I loved the art and decor it was nice but that was about it . We first ordered the pulpo carretillero appetizer which was good 8.5/10. My sister and daughter shared fettuccine in pesto sauce with panko crusted chicken if that was intended to be tallarines verdes it most certainly wasn’t but the name is fettuccine in pesto so 6/10. My husband got the Frejoles con seco and that tasted like Mexican carne a la Ranchera and the beans tasted canned I mean it’s supposed to be Peruvian not Mexican food. My food which was the reason why I’m writing this review and if you’ve ever had authentic arroz con mariscos it’s truly an experience that can’t even be described. As soon as the waitress put in on the table I knew I was gonna dread that crap 😭😭😭😭 it looked like white rice mixed with ketchup and condiments with sad seafood that was left out for a little too long it was like a mushy clumpy mess made in sea water. I really wanted to like it but I don’t know what that was it lacked flavor and color and authenticity, the seafood was weird and too soft. After the first two tries I just put it aside and finished my...
