Seaside Escape at Fort Walton Beach — Hotel in Fort Walton Beach

Please hold on to your hard earned money and do not do business with these scam artists. I rented room #3 from 8 Gipson Place Ne. It was for my birthday trip to Ft. Walton. After driving 6 hours there we learned there was only street parking and you can’t see your vehicle from the room. This is a dangerous area with no staff from the business on site to assist or offer service. When we opened the room my wife and I were hit with the stench of cigarette smoke and mold. The walls has stains on them, the bed was a full size not a queen on a cheap metal frame, the coach had stains and cigarette burns, the fridge had iced over and wasn’t cooling so I had no where to keep my medicine, the kitchenette had coffee stains on it. The shower had plastic glued over the moldy trim and corners and was missing a curtain. We waited outside and reached out for help, we were told help would arrive soon. Almost 2 hours later we witnessed a drug addict take off his jacket and break into the building behind this roach motel, my wife and I reached out for help to speak with a manager and they said it would take 2 hours for them to call. We left and drove 6 hours back home, the manager promised a full refund when she called, then changed her mind and said only $49 cleaning fee would be refunded. My wife and I stayed here for 7 days during memorial weekend and we are quite happy with Seaside Escape! We would absolutely recommend it as a place to stay for anyone looking for a great price and not afraid of a bit a walking or Uber rides. (We found it to be almost as fast to walk when traffic was bad.) It has A LOT of options to offer from stores to restaurants and gas stations within a mile in any direction. Approximately a 45minute/2.5 mile walk to Okaloosa island. The staff my wife dealt with was amazing as well! Very friendly, and Very fast response times if you're trying to communicate. This was a last-minute find I was grateful for and enjoyed enough to return. My room was lovely. I especially liked the high-quality linens both on the bed and in the bathroom. Thanks for including make-up remover wipes AND washcloths! I didn't need the kitchenette but noticed it seemed well-stocked. The hosts were very communicative via text. You can tell they're putting a lot of thought into continuous improvements, including additional parking options and cozying up the outdoor spaces. Overall, a great value for comfort. Will look...
