DO NOT STAY HERE!
My wife and I recently stayed at three different hotels in the area as we were evacuating from the storm. All three were in the same price range, in the same ft Walton area.
This was BY FAR the worst of the three and possibly one of the worst hotel room experiences I've had.
Starting with the ridiculous pet fee that we were not aware of, which was much higher than both of the other hotels we stayed at (which were much, much nicer hotels). This ended up being the most expensive hotel we stayed at because of the fees. To top this all off, the front desk employee, while seemingly just annoyed with us and not acting friendly or sympathetic at all, actually told us she would only charge us for 2 of our 3 pets because of the confusion... Of course she charged us for all three and the hotel will not work with us and they are claiming she left no note of that. We didn't declare any pets until we checked in so considering got charged for 3, the front desk employee blatantly lied directly to our faces.
The room itself was not overly clean. There were stains on the only chair besides the bed and the room initially smelled clean but after whatever they sprayed in the room wore off it smelled like nasty, stale, mildew. By the morning after, our clothes literally smelled horrible like the room to the point where my wife went out and bought herself some new shirts for the rest of our trip.
After experiencing all of this, I had no doubt the breakfast would be bad so I didn't even bother the first morning, but the second morning I figured I would give it a try because it smelled pretty good when I walked by..... It was much worse than I could have imagined to the point where they would be better off not offering it. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were so tough I literally couldn't cut them with a knife and they were beyond unpleasant. The item that caught my attention initially just from the smell was the potatos that appeared to be spiced and cooked with peppers and other aromatics... They were drastically undercooked and despite the smell, they were completely bland. I couldn't bring myself to try the flat, microwaved egg ring and ended up throwing out the entire plate of breakfast because it was legitimately borderline inedible.
All in all, this hotel is the WORST value for your money in this area. I suggest looking for deals on any of the Hilton properties as for the same price or less you can get much better customer service, a nicer/cleaner hotel, and an edible breakfast (not a game changer but it is nice when you are travelling).

Read moreWe recently had a situation where we booked a stay at Sleep Inn & Suites through a third-party site, and unfortunately, the reservation was not what we expected. The room we were given didn’t match what we were looking for, and when we tried to make changes through the third-party service, they refused to help or allow any adjustments to the reservation — even though it clearly wasn’t a good fit.
Thankfully, the staff at Sleep Inn & Suites handled the situation with compassion and integrity.
We first spoke with Shena at the front desk. She could have easily told us there was nothing she could do, but instead, she took the initiative to reach out to her manager on our behalf. That kind of extra effort really meant a lot to us.
Then came General Manager Rick Patel and we can’t say enough good things about his professionalism and kindness. Rather than forcing us to pay for the full five-night stay that we didn’t want or need, he only charged us for the one night we stayed. That allowed us the flexibility to book a room elsewhere that actually suited our needs, without being financially penalized.
Both Sheena and Rick went above and beyond. They showed genuine care, empathy, and professionalism — and that’s rare these days. We are extremely grateful for how they handled a tough situation with grace and fairness, and we hope Sleep Inn & Suites recognizes them both for the outstanding service they provided.
Thank you again, Rick and Sheena — your customer-first attitude truly made all...
