I was sure looking forward to a good experience and great food after a long day a work. I called about 6:30 to reserve a for 1 in the dining room and was told 9:30pm was the earliest I could be seated. However about 8:15 I was called and informed my table was ready. I rushed to get dressed grabbed and Uber. When I arrived I was shocked to be seated in the bar area, which I don’t like because I tend to be neglected. Unfortunately that stood true here a Baker Street. My server was great, prompt with a great attitude. I ordered a salad and a single crab cake as a starter. The salad came out quick however no crab cake I was told it was right behind the salad. 20 minutes later my ribeye and sides show up all crammed together on one small plate. Steak was cook good and tasted good but hey still no crab cake. Finally after talking with my server I told her my disappointment about not being seated in dining room, my starter not coming out correctly and the food looking thrown on a plate. She told me that yes today was not a good day for them and she was get a manager. This manager had been at one table for the entire meal talking and trying to sale a bottle of wine. Finally my server got his attention took him to the back and he came to my table with my crazy ale about halfway through my steak. It was hot but dry it tasted rushed and not great. I have two bites. I tired to explain everything to him but he acted like it was my fault I wasn’t seated in the dining room, well I called ahead and told them I was willing to wait about 3 hours but I guess that wasn’t enough. When you spend $100.00 on a meal for a single person you expect to have great service, with everything put together or at least fixed in a timely manner or at least an apology. This manager made me feel it was my fault and the only issue was the crab cake. Unfortunately that not the case. This establishment need help in a lot of areas especially in at the kitchen pass and the managerial department. Highly disappointed and I will...
Read moreAnniversary Dinner, not a great experience. My wife and I have gone to Baker Street for our Anniversary for the last 5 years. I've always had an excellent experience & left positive reviews.
Made reservations as usual, maybe I'm wrong, but I hope that would get a decent table especially when noted as an Anniversary. Nope, right out in the middle of the restaurant with zero privacy & barely any separation from the other tables.
We didn't order an app (nothing looked appealing this time) no biggie, moved on to ordering our steaks, a Filet for my wife & NY Strip for myself. Our salads & bread arrived everything fine so far. Then the steaks arrived & I could immediately tell something looked off. There was a layer of salt covering the top of our steaks, this was never an issue in the past & just looked weird. I Initially scraped a bit of it off, but it was too late a lot of it had already melted into the steak. I cut into my steak & it was cooked as ordered so I tried a bite, the only thing I could taste was salt, nothing but salt, it was just awful. The absolute worst steak I've had. Tried to scrape a bit more off of the top but that wasn't working. They completely doused the tops of our steak with enough salt for 20 steaks. Aside from the steak, our sides of whipped potatoes & asparagus were completely cold. I could totally look past that if the steaks were amazing as normal, but not this time. I sent mine back, somehow my wife managed to eat hers.
I was offered another option, but at that point my wife was mostly done with her steak & it would've been easily another 20 min for a replacement. The manager came out & apologize but basically said that the steak was supposed to be that way. Not at all what I was expecting.
To leave without eating an entree & still with a bill over $100, I'll think twice before coming back again & certainly find another location for our Anniversary dinners. I hope Baker Street hasn't lost what...
Read more2.1.2024 Updating this one. Had a chance to come back to Baker Street for a work event and so I had a chance to taste a lot of the appetizers.
My favorite one was the bbq bacon wrapped shrimp. This shrimp in this appetizer is huge and the bacon and barbecue sauce really set this one apart. The little fried patty that they came on with jalapeno salsa really made this appetizer amazing. The calamari appetizer and the guda dip appetizer were both very good as well.
The peanut butter cup dessert really didn't seem to be worth it to me. It was very dry and there didn't seem to be the good flavor that I was expecting there to be for this dessert. I'm not sure if I just didn't order it properly with whatever ice cream or other thing that it was supposed to come with but it just didn't seem to be great at all.
I got the seabass entree and I thought it was very good and melted in my mouth. I do have to say that the bacon and onion risotto that was underneath the seabass was amazing. The seabass was expensive but I would probably pay half of that just for the risotto by itself.
Visited Baker Street and I have to say we really didn't enjoy it. We had a gift card so we thought we'd give it another try. For the price at this place I just don't think you get the quality food that you would think to get. We grabbed a couple Burgers that were $20 each and of course we couldn't resist the Gouda dip again!! All of these items are $20 and the only one that comes close to being worth it is the crab Gouda dip and the pita bread that comes with it. Lots of bread very little dip but it is really good. Don't bother with the mozzarella burger. It wasn't all that good and certainly is not worth the price. The breakfast burger is getting better but still...20??
They have great gluten free pita bread that went...
