Honestly the worst Ulta I have been to. The employees are very rude and cold towards customers. This is the closest store to me, which is still about an hour away. After making the trip, excited to come shop and get my essentials plus a few extras, I had accumulated just shy of $200 worth of products. I was going to also get a perfume that was an additional $200, but decided to come back to that before I left. I also just did not want to hunt down & wait for an employee to come unlock the display case and figured I could have someone do that while I was checking out. In the checkout lane, my husband finds a gift set of cologne and we didn’t see a price, so we asked the cashier to help us find the price. A few minutes goes by and all of a sudden there’s 3 employees on the case, telling us this item is not in their system, they can’t sell it, etc. Which is fine, my husband tried to bargain with them because he really did want this set and it was the only thing that even caught his eye. And to be fair, this was a mistake on their end, if the product isn’t in your system, it should not be on the floor. The problem, however, was not that we could not purchase this item. The problem was that 2 of the 3 employees had very bad attitudes and were extremely rude about the whole situation, one of which was allegedly a manager. When I’m spending hundreds of dollars at your store, the least you can do is show your customers a bit of respect. My husband, understandably, did not want to complete the purchase due to the terrible experience with these two ladies. I could only respect that decision and we left. That being said, I felt like I was completely respectful the entire interaction, and got the short end of the stick. Not only did we come from an hour away, but now I’m leaving empty-handed and obviously upset. This treatment is completely unacceptable and unnecessary. Not to mention, this is not the only bad experience i’ve had with this store specifically. And every time, it boils down to the disrespectful staff. It truly is disappointing to go out of your way to shop at a store you love just to be...
Read moreAs someone with a chronic illness that impacts my ability to get out and about most days, I tend buy my stuff from Ulta on the app. However, I was having a good day earlier this week and was out and about running errands so I decided to pop into the Northcrest Ulta to grab a bottle of my husband’s fav cologne. I understand theft is an ongoing issue that has resulted in Ulta stores having to lock up all of the fragrances (testers included…) and I get it. I knew I’d need an associate to help me so I strolled around hoping to catch someone. Important note: as someone who worked in customer service for years, I’m especially empathetic to the abuse that customer-facing employees have to endure and am incredibly mindful of this when asking sales associates for assistance. In short, I was in no way rude to this person. However, she seemed incredibly bothered to have to help me. Unfortunately, I was having difficulty recalling which specific type of cologne I needed (EDT, EDP, etc.) so I decided to wing it. She pulled the product, I thanked her, and I got in line to check out. As I was waiting, my husband called and confirmed which version he used and I realized I picked the wrong one. Once I got to the register I informed the cashier (who was much friendlier) that I’d need to do a quick swap. A quick page was made and the associate who had originally helped me out came walking back, rolling her eyes when she was told I needed a swap. She begrudgingly walked back to the fragrance aisle, unlocked the cabinet and made the swap as I repeatedly apologized, joked about my little mix-up, and thanked her for her help. She locked the cabinet and walked away. No words. Woof! Anyway, I’ll go back to ordering on the app or just hit up the Apple Glen store so as to avoid inconveniencing anyone at Northcrest. Also, I hope that associate’s week has gotten better because life is too short to be miserable like that.
TL;DR Apple Glen vibes ...
Read moreI'm very torn about this review because I had a really great experience but then had an absolutely terrible one that completely ruined it for not only me but several other ladies. I did get my hair cut and the lady did an absolutely fabulous job and I was very happy with all of that. The second experience is actually multiple visits and phone calls. I was on a bridal party of a bride who was having a destination wedding. She has extremely sensitive skin and most products cause extreme breakouts. She decided to schedule a makeup trial at Ulta to test makeup and to see if she could find a look she could recreate at the destination. The makeup artist did a great job but that's where everything good stops. The makeup artist did not put ANY of the makeup brands or colors into the computer after saying multiple times that it would be there when the bride returned to purchase it. (The plan was to see how her face reacted to having that makeup on a full day). After a bunch of calls and run around the makeup artist came up with what she could remember. The bride spent $60 for this experience and for the names of the makeup and didn't even recieve all of them. When I called to talk to a manager she was unbelievably insincere and it was very obvious that she wasn't interested in correcting things at all or even trying to. She claimed that she would look on the cameras to get the makeup brands but didn't even take my number or the brides to call back. I'm super unhappy with the whole situation, especially since I was planning on shopping there for all my future makeup needs. So that being said, I would give them no stars if it wasn't for that...
