Culver’s — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Going into the restaurant at about 2:30 this afternoon, there was a line of 4 people. Our cashier took our order, I placed my order and ordered the Buffalo chicken tenders kids meal. I was not informed that they were out of Buffalo tenders. Cashier also didn’t offer any sauce to go with our meals. The wait to get our food was a little longer than normal. When our food arrived I opened my bag and it had a corn dog in it. I took it Up to the counter, I was not greeted, there was just a girl standing there staring at me. So I walked up and told her I got a corn dog instead of the Buffalo tenders. She then informed me that they were out of Buffalo tenders and walked away to talk to a coworker. The coworker then Came over and handed me a bag and I had to ask if they were regular tenders. She said they were. I was not offered if I wanted regular tenders or a refund. They just gave them to me. My friend then went up to order us our free scoops. She came back and sat down, then went to the bathroom, came back and our scoops still weren’t at the table so she went up to ask about them as it had been almost 10 minutes since we ordered. She was rudely told “we haven’t made them!” No apology was offered. 30 seconds after my friend sat back down the custard attendant brought our scoops. She was extremely rude and short with us, not apologizing for our long wait. After we got our scoops my friends lemon ice with raspberries had so much raspberry syrup that it was like soup. Overall the food tasted great but the girls who were working this Saturday afternoon need to work on their customer...

No matter what you order you're going to have a good meal! My personal favorites are the crispy shrimp and the cod filets. You'll be hard pressed to find a better, high quality piece of fish in the fast food world, although I always have to add salt. You get BIG pieces and they're nice and crispy on the outside and moist and flaky inside. Their onion rings are the best, too!

And of course what review would be complete without touching on their custard? It's DIVINE!! Their concrete mixers (their version of a blizzard) is HEAVEN! The custard is so creamy and smooth as velvet. I love to add Reese's peanut butter cups to mine and the juxtaposition of the hard chocolate edges of the cups against the creaminess of the custard and the nuttiness of the peanut butter against the rich flavor of the custard...Ah, pure bliss! I routinely get their milk shakes, and they're so thick and delicious that I wish their sizes were larger. I've dined in and gone through the drive thru many times at this location on different days at varying hours and the service is always pretty quick. Any wait time is always because they're making your food to order. There aren't any burgers sitting under a heat lamp back in the kitchen. No fries sitting in a warmer. It's all made right as you order it and I'm always willing to wait for quality like that! The staff is always friendly and they always accommodate my many requests, substitutions and picky preferences. I don't have a bad thing to say...

This place has gone so far downhill it's a real shame. The last several times we went through the drive thru not only was the wait long but the order was wrong. We figured maybe they were short handed or training a lot of new people so we were patient. We finally decided to take a break from going there. It has been a while so we went last night. We pulled in at 6:51 pm and placed our order at 7:10 pm. There is 20 minutes. We pulled up and paid and were given our number and told to pull over. We did. There we sat for an additional 40 minutes. Literally. We called into the store and asked what was going on. We were told 2 bus fulls of Amish people showed up unexpectedly. When they finally brought us our food the Concrete mixers were all melted. We got home and the onion rings were not only cold and tasted old but they were so salty we couldn't eat them. Everything about this is completely unacceptable. When we placed our order we should have been told about the potential wait BEFORE taking our money. At least we would have been given the opportunity to leave and go elsewhere. I would have respected that and would remain a customer. As it stands, I am done. Way too many other restaurants in the area to choose from. An hour for fast food is absolutely unacceptable and I don't care what was going on. I am sure I will get the typical canned response and have already reached out...
