Though Nori Asian Fusion Cuisine is and may always be One of our favorite places,Great food usually great service, exceptional location and atmosphere; This particular visit was far below expectations and the normal service we are used to experiencing. My husband and I Decided to take my mother in-law and Aunt out for a thank you and family dinner as we had just gotten married 1 month prior.
The service was horrible. Waited forever to get in orders, never came back to refill drinks, messed up our orders then waited almost 35 minutes for a shrimp tempura roll. My mother in-law had to ask for a clean glass bc there was a lipstick print on the cup, and she never not uses a straw and wasn't wearing lipstick. Never asked us if we wanted dessert and had to ask for it to go. The manager,I'm guessing, was the only one who helped us and also the only reason we didn't get up and leave. we'd have surely asked for her anyways before leaving but the young man who waited on us was horrible. Hopefully he can be retrained and show more guest attention to all his tables instead of only a few with cute girls. We ended up tipping the manager instead. She did the work and was absolutely amazing and far above the expectations we have come to know at this amazing restaurant. We will try to make another day to visit though we will also probably request the bar area or a different server. This visit was embarrassing as well not to mention was our 1 month anniversary but neither mother in-law nor aunt has been here before. We were so excited to share one of our favorite places and date night locations with them..... to have such horrible service was absolutely the worst scenario to happen....wish it hadn't been on a special night for all of us. my husband and I left apologizing for his lack of skill, attention, almost rudeness and felt his lack of over all Took something that was supposed to be celebrating to underwhelming and completely frustrating. $200 down the drain on an anniversary family night. Thanks to the young lady in the green shirt who actually helped us during the frustration of even getting drinks and boxes as well as...

The staff was welcoming. The interior is uniquely decorated but not distracting. It was comfortable & fun. Restroom was clean. The row of red low back booths look cool until you are back-to-back with a giant fella that has huge hair. Definitely feel your personal space is being violated.
Ok, on to the food. Miso soap was hot (°F) and tasty w/ fresh oinions. The Hibachi chicken & steak was ok. The steak cubes were not uniformly cut so the insides were not cooked to the same level. Flavor was ok and temp was hot. Chicken was a little dry and pieces needed to be cut a little smaller (more bit sized) but flavor was also ok and temp was hot. Something was missing from the flavor. MSG? Lomein noodles were perfect. Vegetables...those pesky carrots. Some were cut too thinly and ended up getting over cooked and had a soggy leather texture. The onions and broccoli were fine. That dipping sauce was not my favorite. Sort of a watrered down mayonnaise. Needs replaced. Overal quantity was sufficient to allow for some leftovers. Drink refills showed up as we needed them.
They have a pay by phone app option on the the bill. Scan QR code and after a few taps on your smart phone, the bill is paid. Easy peasy.
Nori was not an exceptional experience but an good experience. We...
Read moreOrdered a hibachi entree combo- steak and shrimp and asked to cook the steak medium rare. When I opened it and started eating the steak, they were extremely well done and full of sinew. It was impossible to enjoy that meal at all, So, I called them immediately to let them know that. In response they asked me if I would like a refund or for them to redo the dish for me. I asked them to redo it for me, since I was starving and needed to eat my lunch. I did not go back and sent my husband in to pick it up. He walked out with a tiny takeout box with just the steak pieces recooked for me. I just don't understand how they expect me to eat my meal? They didn't ask me if they could redo the steak pieces separately, they just asked if they could redo it for me. The rest of the dish had gone cold by that time and they just hand us a couple pieces of steak? I have never seen anything like this anywhere else and we eat out at Asian and other ethnic places often. Anytime I have had an issue with any dish, the place replaced the whole dish. It was quite disappointing and the flavors were not worth the price either. There are better places in Fort Wayne for Hibachi as well as other dishes and I definitely...
