#7 stop for the biscuits and gravy tour led me to the fantastic, Sunday morning brunch buffet at Trolley Bar on Dupont. Almost everything available is self-serve. Just like all the rest of the spots, I made a plate by breaking a biscuit in half and covered it with only gravy, essentially making a half order. They don't make their biscuits in house, but they do make the gravy on site. I think it's the meatiest gravy I've had so far. The texture was really good and I didn't need to add pepper or hot sauce to enjoy the plate. Definitely a good option. If you started with the pictures, you know the biscuits and gravy are just a very small part of what Trolley offers on their brunch. I did take 3 short videos of different areas of the food, including the salad bar. (Please check them out.) It's been a few days, but I'll try to describe as much as I can without missing anything. I don't know if they set it up the same every week, but I'm sure it's close. The end of the table has a couple different styles of cinnamon rolls cut in a little bigger than bite-size pieces. Some have nuts and some do not. They are marked pretty well. The left side of the table had biscuits and gravy, pancakes, shepherd's pie, walleye bites, mac and cheese, meatballs, and scrambled eggs with and without meat. I put a little bit of all of it on my plate. The walleye bites were absolutely fantastic! They had great flavor and were very flaky. The Shepherd's pie was very close to what was expected, meat on the bottom, mashed potatoes in the middle, and a very generous amount of cheese melted over the top. It could have been a full meal by itself. Not too much to say about the rest of this side, besides that everything was seasoned well, hot and fresh. The right side of the table of course starts with the overwhelming amount of cinnamon roll again. It was hard to not get another piece. This side began with cut fruit, cheese cubes, and pepperoni. The next thing, was what they call an apple French toast bake. It was really good, and reminded me a little of bread pudding. There was syrup nearby, but it was sweet enough without it. The next pan had hash browns. I would have liked them with some sausage or ham cut up, but I'm sure they don't do that so people that are vegetarian can enjoy them as well. The next pan had bacon and sausage links. They were fine. The last thing on this side was the salmon. This might have been the star of the breakfast for me. It was done well, and so good! I picked up two squares of it, but probably should have only had one. Worth it. There is a side table near the end where a member of the kitchen staff carves ham and prime rib for guests. It was a little late in my meal, but I tried a small chunk of each. If I wasn't trying to sample everything, I probably would have started at this spot. In addition to everything I mentioned above, The fantastic Trolley salad bar is all fair game as well. It is available all the time as an add-on to entrees or sandwiches. You can also enjoy the salad bar all by itself, which I have done many times and it's very satisfying. At the end of the bar rail, there is a build your own bloody Mary station. There are multiple options of different pickles, peppers, deviled eggs and meats on a stick. I didn't order it, but it's $12. I'm not sure if that gives you just one pass or more. Hopefully, you get a chance to try The Sunday buffet. It is offered from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $21.99. (discounted rate for kids) There are so many great options, that if you go and don't leave miserable, you didn't do it right. 😉 #onforkstoforks #foodie #buffet #brunch

We came here for my Daughter's birthday. Thank Goodness we had a specialty cake from Couture Cakes so save the evening! Because THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. We were a large party and were not expecting perfection, but a total collapse in customer service was also not on the menu! One of my daughters steaks came out rare after she ordered it well done. Then they brought it back, burned on the outside and still rare inside. The manager asked her to select another entrée. She ordered salmon it was also NOT done. Meanwhile one of our guest, asked the server for water so many times a guest from ANOTHER TABLE gave him her water. That's ridiculous! My daughter (the birthday girl) received Brussel sprouts that were so burned she could scrape the char off. Next, They completely forgot my other daughters meal. I mean literally every one who could eat was almost done or on their second "send back " and she didn't have food. So AGAIN the manager came to explain how they forgot to enter her food. When it finally came out it was DISGUSTING. It was so disgusting, I insisted that the manager try it and he agreed. It tasted like hand sanitizer. Something was actually spoiled in it. 2 ppl at our table ordered the same food, yet their steaks were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. We DID NOT get refills ....ever! It was just a bad experience. And we spent well over $1000. The Manger took 2 items off the bill, but at that point it didn't matter, because we had to stop at fast food and spend more money. I called a few days later was told someone would call me back. 1 MONTH LATER. I had to call back! I spoke to a Manger who offer me 2 free meals. I'm sure that was probably all she was authorized to offer. But this entire experience was terrible and 2 meals doesn't seem adequate.

If you haven’t been to the Trolley before, don’t be discouraged by the location. Yes, it’s weird that it’s in a strip mall but it gets better once inside. Give it a try. We have to eat gluten free and they don’t have a separate GF menu but can let you know what is safe to eat. The salad bar has always been great here. We haven’t been here for a year because we figured the salad bar would be closed due to the pandemic. We were pleasantly surprised that it was still available. Instead of diners going to the salad bar now you fill out a checklist of what you’d like and the server makes your salad. The salad I got was very generous. It was much bigger than I would have made myself and she even plated it nicely. The scallops are phenomenal here. If you don’t want a full order you can get a side of two. If you haven’t had them they are a must try. Filet mignon is also a favorite. Always cooked perfectly. My favorite cocktail here is the Nutty Professor. It’s a mule using Makers Mark. Not sure if they’ll ever offer the Bloody Mary bar again, but we loved to have that with brunch when they had it. Every server is different and we’ve had some slower ones in the past but last night we had a great server named Alison. She seemed a little newer because she didn’t have everything memorized but that was no concern to us. My only complaint about this place is that the after dinner mints here are so gross! Obviously not a deal breaker but does anyone even like them?

We went to the Trolley Bar on New Years Eve with my girlfriend. ( We are seniors) Reservation was 5:30. We arrived about ten minutes early and was seated immediately. The waitress came to our table and started to greet us then stopped. She had the wrong table, apologized and went to a table of four. After 15+ minutes she came back and took our drink order. Later she brought drinks and took our order. My date ordered shrimp, I ordered a ribeye medium rare. We went to the salad bar, came back to the table. We both finished our salads and waited for our food. The wait was extremely long. The waitress finally stopped by the table to let us know our food would be out soon. 10 - 15 minutes later she came back and said there were only two meals ahead of us. At 7:20 our meal arrived. After the wait, the food was cold. Only the shrimp was warm and edible. I put some of the whipped butter served with the bread on my baked potato and broccoli. It did not melt. When the waitress came to ask how the food was, I just stated "it is cold." This started a series excuses. When she stated the steak came straight from the grill, I could only say, "no it didn't." The steak was almost room temperature. The waitress brought the dining room manager over. She saw the butter not melted. She offered to have the steak put on the grill and replace the sides. I first declined. I did not want my steak cooked to well done to get it warm. I finally accepted new sides for the two of us. The manager offered us desserts and an adjustment on the bill. The sides came out and we're just as cold. Again the potato and broccoli would not melt butter. We picked at our meal and decided to take it home. The waitress came and asked about the food. I pointed out the butter on the broccoli. Again, more excuses. I asked for a box. The waitress took our dessert order. She returned with a box and the bill. A few minutes later the dessert. My date ordered crem brulee and I cheesecake. We decided to eat the crem brulee first. It was served cold. A very light caramelized sugar topping. Very mediocre at best. We paid the bill, no discount was given. I know they were very busy. Things happen. Our table was six feet in front of the food pick up counter. I could see problems that could have been corrected. The dining room manager stayed at the pickup counter and food got out faster. It was obvious our order was forgotten. People that arrived after us left before our food came out. The thing I had the most problem with was the waitress making excuses and lying to me. I give it two stars because the salad bar is awesome, but it's meant to be served cold. We took the steak and home and had it for New Year's dinner. Served hot, it was very good. Not what you would expect for $125...

I called to make reservations during business hours for a group of people and no one answered the phone. I reserved online but could only make a reservation for 4 guests or less. I tried calling again, and no one answered. So I made multiple online reservations so I could all the spots I needed. I received confirmation emails and thought everything would be good. We show up on the day and time of our reservation and they didn’t have record of it. However, it was early (4:30p) so they were able to seat us, great! Our server seemed very overwhelmed during our entire service. She couldn’t handle more than one request at a time and had to make frequent trips to our table when it could have been done in far less. Each time she came back she seemed more overwhelmed. This was made especially difficult to deal with when the entire front of house staff was standing around at the food pass most of whom were actively busy. As we received our cocktails half of our group disliked them and felt they tasted “syrupy” most of us dealt with it and one asked for a different option. Within two minutes of receiving the replacement drink a fruit fly landed it and we observed multiple fruit flies in and around our food and drinks. We ordered a variety of different menu items and none of them were good, they weren’t terrible just not at all the quality you would expect. Honestly, Applebee’s would have been better. While we were eating our food we observed that many of the cooks we could see from the open kitchen looked unprofessional - one was literally wearing sunglasses, using a toothpick on the line, we even saw him eating food! Like literally with a glove on his hand grabbing food and putting it directly into his mouth and then going about his day without changing gloves or handwashing. This was a really disappointing experience especially given the menu prices. I’ve been here before and been impressed from start to finish but honestly I have nothing good to say about this visit. Two of the people from our party ( who ate different things) both shared that they were sick that night and...
