Update: Came back around February 2019. Service was alot better, the bottles actually sprinkle tops instead of the condiment bottles. The labels for the ice cream are easier to read and look nice. Staff(it was one person there, but it is the middle of the day and winter time) was very considerate. They added toppings on the side and keep them in very nice air tight containers.
However, they made so many cereal cones that the towers in the back are leaning against the chalk sign wall. Take your extra cones, and stick it in an airtight container. Don't try to fit all your cones in a small area at the cost of sanitation.
I've been here since they first open and while I enjoy the taste of their ice cream and the price, there have been issues that still occur that can't be ignored. -No menu of common flavors. --Considering the fact that they have a consistent long line, why isn't there a place where people can read what is in the ice cream while they wait? The website has the flavors, but you have to go to the place where they get their ice cream from to read about it. -Staff isn't friendly and a bit disorganized. --I've been skipped a couple of times when it was my turn (one of those times involved the server taking two of my family member's orders and then running to another group). Didn't even get an apology either time with them looking annoyed on a mistake they made. -Cleanliness --Sprinkle bottles are really gross. They have like ten of them on this single tray and some of them have dried ice cream on the tops. If the cashier sees a dirty bottle, just pull one out, have someone clean it in the back when there is a break. --Eaten there many times and have yet to see a single person take time to wipe the tables down every once in a while. --Remember when I wrote that staff was a bit disorganized, well they can be a bit dirty as well. Someone ordered a sundae and here is what the girl did. She pulls out this small tub of vanilla ice cream and sets it on the counter. To get it out, she hugs the tub, leaning her head and long hair (no hat btw) over it to scoop it out. So whoever ordered this sundae not only got ice cream that is taken in and out of refrigeration, but some bodily fluid and bits of scalp...
Read moreI give this shop a zero because of the lack of care and concern for their customers. I took a bad fall on the step at the entrance of the shop and no one will talk to me about it even though I have called several times. Everything is vague and illusive. That small step at the door should be marked clearly!!!!! My leg is broken and no one at the shop cares that someone was injured at their business. Everyone has to have liability insurance...or they are supposed to. My next step is to find a lawyer.
It is very interesting that the owner is calling me a liar...she was not there and has no idea what happened. Not one employee even acknowledged me as I sat on the floor unable to move. Other customers came to my aid...but NO one tried to get any information from me or about me. I was in such pain I knew I just had to get to ER quickly so I did not initiate anything with the employees. They should have done that on their own.
i have not threatened her teenagers with anything...I was trying to get her information so that I could speak to her. I am the one with the broken leg and my life has been turned upside down. Why would I misrepresent that? I had better things to do than spend my summer with a broken leg. I am a senior citizen and feel the owner is cruel and unkind. She obviously does not have the maturity to acknowledge and take responsibility for her store. That step is very dangerous as it cannot be easily seen. When I went back to speak to someone about it, they had written "watch your step" on a sheet of paper under their open hours. A very small attempt at trying to prevent any further issues at that doorway.
This issue is not over since the owner is obviously not concerned and is very cold and...
Read moreRestaurant review My first 5 star find in Fort Wayne! Initially I came here after dinner for the extreme milkshake which looked simply delicious and a piece of art, but they recently created the bubble cone which is simply a Hong Kong style egg waffle with ice cream in it. This was clearly a happening place with a line going out the door. While waiting, I could check out all of the amazing flavors including Zoreo (zanzibar chocolate with oreos), black cherry (with large pieces of cherry embedded in), and exhausted parent (bourbon, espresso ice cream with bittersweet chocolate chunks). Even with the crazy long line, staff was super friendly and I found out afterwards that the cashier was the owner who was recently on the news for the new menu item. Super sweet and friendly! I was worried that the hot egg waffle "bubble cone" would melt the ice cream but it soaked it right in like she said on TV. This was simply the smoothest and creamiest ice cream I have ever had. I will be back for the ice cream flight and also the extreme milkshake next time!
Pros: many flavors, super friendly staff, not too expensive
Cons: smaller parking lot, difficult to get out of the lot
Hidden deals: Check out the board for new menu items not on the website, the ice cream flight at 6 dollars seems like...
