The owner has reached out and we have spoken. Jerry was incredibly nice, apologetic and reassuring. She stated that she re-educated her staff. She spoke with her staff about the situation and will make sure this does not happen again. She understands how serious Celiac disease is and will make sure all staff knows what it is. She refunded my meal and even at the end send me a Zianos gift card for $100 to make things right. Although it was not asked of, it is appreciated that she did that. Jerry, thank you for reaching out and talking with me about the situation and making it right.
I have Celiac and as someone who has that, I have to plan my meals and days out with my family and friends. I called and spoke with the manager and asked if their GF pasta was Celiac friendly. I was told yes. I asked about all of their sauces and he listed off all of the ingredients and assured me they would be kept away from cross contamination and that they did not use any form of wheat, rye, barly, flour..etc in their alfrado and marinara. I asked if they offered gluten free salad dressings and he said that he know for a fact that their house made dressing was gluten free. When I went with my son, sister and mother I clarified again that what I was ordering was gluten free. I was told yes. Our server, Krystal, was not at all educated on what gluten was. She kept offering me bread with my salad and I had explained to her many times that I can not have gluten, bread, flour..etc because I have Celiac. When I ordered she had the manager come and I asked to make sure AGAIN that the pasta was gluten free, boiled in it's own pan with fresh water, and that the alfrado was gluten free. No flour, wheat, gluten was used. The manager told me it was safe. Not 30 minutes after receiving my food did I start to feel off. My stomach began to hurt. We left and not 15 minutes later I was getting sick, shaking and on the verge of throwing up. I was glutened. I took every precaution and asked many times and was lied to. When my sister had called and explained the situation, it was another manager, a woman, and she was not educated on what gluten was and said more then likely the pasta was boiled in same water as the others. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave me regular penne pasta. She did not care, did not offer a refund, did not apologize. As a resturant, you shouldn't be offering gluten free pasta and allowing your staff to say it's Celiac friendly when you boil it in the same water as normal pasta. As a restaurant you shouldn't be allowing your staff to work with food if they don't know what gluten is. Celiac disease is not just an intolerance. It's an autoimmune disorder that causes pain, vomiting, intense bloating..your small intestine literally destroys itself. I made sure MULTIPLE times. I called before hand to be sure. This is not okay. If i would have known, i would have never had come. Zianos management, do better in teaching and educating your staff. Because of the lies and uneducated staff I will now be suffering with the pain of being glutened for the next...
Read moreWe’ll I really never leave reviews. Bad or Good. But this one really bothered me. I placed a order around 5:30. I was told it would take 60 minutes. I understood this since it was a very busy day. Valentines Day. I got there at 6:30. I’m there waiting till 6:45. I asked to see how much longer. The guy in the front goes to check. And said to me their bagging it. Ok cool. Then 15 minutes go bye again and I asked again. He sent a girl to check and comes back saying their bagging it. You can see the guy in the front asking every time a order came up if it was mine. It wasn’t still. Then the girl at the counter asked me what my name was to check on my order. She came back with orders and still not my order then again I get that their bagging it response. It’s been 30 minutes since they began bagging my food. At this point I’m more upset about people lying then anything. All I wanted was an honest answer. Someone came and drop more orders. And the counter guy asked him if my order is done. He said no. I then I asked him if it the food was just not done or if they were still bagging it. He said it was not done. So now I know they were lying the whole time. I asked the guy if he can go check for sure. And if it was not close to being done to please come back and let me know. Guess what!! He never even came back. I gave them an extra 5 minutes. I finally had to ask for a refund on my card. The food not being done did not bothered my as much as the untrue responses of the status of my order over and over again On top of that I explained to both people at the counter how frustrated I was. What should have been done at that time is to get a manager involved with the situation. If I would have gotten the truth about the order. I probably would have waited longer. Definitely a disappointment and a terrible way to ruin a special evening with a love one....
Read moreI wish I could post photos of mine or my husband’s food but we never received it unfortunately. Makenna was our server, I’m not sure if she’s just new or was having a bad day. Regardless, the restaurant wasn’t very busy at all. I hate to leave a poor review but this was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Pulling up to the building, I almost drove off because the “open” sign wasn’t turned on. Their hours said they were open so we tried it anyway. Makenna was polite but very forgetful. I ordered the manicotti and a side salad. My husband asked if the lunch portion of lasagna was smaller than the regular, our server said yes it’s smaller but it comes with a salad as well. He said he’ll just have the dinner portion of lasagna. After ordering, two other tables in her section were sat and received their orders while we still waited (with empty drinks). One of her other tables next to us stopped her to tell her they received their food but she forgot to get them drinks. Makenna then brought out two side salads for us, and we corrected her saying we only ordered one. After a hour of waiting (still with an empty drink) she apologized and said the spaghetti was ready but the manicotti takes a while. I said we never ordered spaghetti, we got one manicotti, one side salad, and one lasagna. She offered to get it remade but after a hour I was ready to leave. The manager did come over and offered to give us the spaghetti and manicotti to go since it was almost ready, which I appreciated, but our server clearly didn’t inform her that it was an incorrect order. After a hour I didn’t care to have them make an entirely different dish. Mistakes happen, she might have forgotten to send the order through, read the wrong order she wrote down, but she could’ve at least refilled the empty soda...
