Last weekend we went through drive thru. My wife ordered their new fish n chips (was mushy). They said if we were willing to wait 7 minutes we can have the fish fresh. Well, who doesn't want their food fresh? So we said, "Yes, sounds good." We waited 20 minutes and I went inside to see what the problem was. I should mention we've been to this location a few times in the past and there is always an issue. Anyway, I walk in and the two cashiers just stare at me. No "Hello!" or "Welcome to Lee's!", "Can I help you?" Nope...just stared at me. I finally broke the silence and said "Hi". And then the manager (I believe she was the manager) asked if we we're waiting on the fish order. Well apparently they ahd not even started heating the oil. Okay...was going to be another 5 minutes. After a half hour of waiting we finally got our order. I ordered a 2 piece of chicken and they got gravy all over the cole slaw...kind of gross. My wife and I decided from now on we're going to the Dupont location. It's further away but we get our food and get back home much sooner than the one on State which is much closer to us. And the workers at the Dupont location are friendly, helpful and precise. They're spot on with their time estimates and the food us hot and fresh. Go there if you want Lee's...
Read moreThis place has the best fried chicken in the entire state of Indiana. There used to be a place up in Angola that had the best fried chicken I've ever had in Indiana, but they closed down several years ago, and so Lees' is now my favorite fried chicken place. It all tastes incredible! I love, love, love the fried chicken! I love the fried pickles as well! Also they have really good barbecue baked beans, and the biscuits are outstanding! The only downside to the places for some reason there was lots of greasy stuff on the floor inside the restaurant and I was worried that I was going to slip and fall. What's really weird is how disgusting the floor is in there. They should be mopping and sweeping that floor at least two to three times a day. I remember when I worked at Taco Bell when I was 16, I had to sweep like three or four times a night, and then I mopped maybe once, and that's just one shift mind you. But their food is so freaking good, that I'm willing to venture into the unknown realm of semi-consciousness from a possible slip on greasy tile, just to taste that wonderful slapping-your-pappy fried chicken that's just damn...
