Edit: Audree was super helpful in resolving all of my issues! I really appreciate the customer service that I received today and how responsive they were! Definitely a fantastic company! Thank you so much!

We live an hour from the closest DeBrand location but because my wife and kids absolutely adore their "normal" chocolate (the ones that are rectangular and have little sayings on them), I decided to stop by and get some since I was in the area. I bought some of those for them yesterday but I thought I would try something different and get a special treat for my wife and Mother-in-law so I got the big 28 piece box (I believe it was $56). They both shared one piece last night as they had never had this before and they weren't fans of it so I decided to make a special trip back here to try and return the box to make sure the chocolateswere still fresh. The employee was flabbergasted at the fact that they didn't like it and wouldn't take the box back and return my money because one of the chocolates from the box had been eaten. I was willing to pay for the one chocolate that was no longer in the box but it didn't matter I couldn't return the box and get my money back. I am very surprised and frustrated at the customer service that I received today from them. I honestly expected more from them since the customer service that I have received in the past has been top notch. I am very disappointed now I have to make the trek back home in this terrible snowy weather with nothing to show from...

On August 4th I went on a group tour with our Flower Garden and enjoyed the experience. Having taken kids on field trips to DeBrand in the past, I knew it would be fun. Last year I received a gift box of DeBrand assorted chocolates and especially enjoyed the maple cream ones So, after the tour, I chose 6 maple leaf ones from the display case. The next day I had one, but was really disappointed. Unlike my past memories of the cream maple flavor I found it to be not creamy, but seemed gritty, not at all the same as ones I had remembered. It had a slight bitter taste. I was hoping it was a fluke and the rest would be good, but the next day, I treated myself to another one and it was just as disappointing. I haven't tried anymore of them. I had purchased two individual Turtles and the first one was fantastic, and I'm hoping the second one will be delicious too. Unfortunately I am wondering it the maple creams were old since they were in the display case, perhaps not fresh. If you still have them in your case, I would suggest you test one and see if the others are as bad as the ones I have tried. It tasted like the sugar had not dissolved well. It was still a fun day and I purchased a cute coffee cup regarding my mood reflecting chocolate. Hope this feed back can be helpful to you. Jo Schwartz,...

Restaurant review BEST DESSERT So far since moving to Fort Wayne, Debrand appears to have the market on the best dessert in town. This is the main location where the chocolate factory is located. They offer tours for 5 dollars which includes a 5 dollar off 10 dollar coupon at the end that can be stacked together so essentially you get the tour for free if you buy chocolate afterwards. These tours would occur on Tues, Thursday, and Saturday. Make sure to get there early or you may have to wait for the batches of groups to go through. I have been on two of the tours and they have been different both times. You start with watching a video then are lead into the different areas where the chocolate is made. You get some samples each step of the way. The first time they actually had 2 truffles that you got to sample, the next time it was just smaller pieces of chocolate (maybe this was due to us visiting after Valentine's day). Overall I am impressed and if you have time and plan to buy chocolate anyways, go on the tour for the samples! The actual purchasing of dessert and chocolate can get quite busy after the tours, so be prepared to wait. Overall this is a great family or date experience and I highly...

It was really fancy. The chocolate is very expensive, but it's good for gifts for loved ones. There are also tables where you can eat or drink at. They pretty much just sell chocolates, cakes, and they have a few drinks that you can either drink there or take it to go. The spiced chi that I had bought was delicious, but a little over priced for the size compared to what you could get at Starbucks. I was also a little upset that they didn't have flavored coffee. They have cappuccinos, coffee mochas, coffee latte, spiced chi, but I couldn't get a vanilla cappuccino. This is one of the readons why I rated it at 4 stars. I had also bought a 12 piece box of truffle chocolates that were $40. The box definitely looked like I was buying a high quality chocolate because of the packaging detail. It was nice that they had displays of what their boxes looked like and had given suggestions on what I could do with the box. They also had stickers to put on your box like it's a boy. They have tours for $5 of their facility if your interested how they make their chocolate.

We went on a tour on a Saturday morning. I was surprised to see 30 people in our group. It was quite large, so they split us into 2 groups. They have videos to watch at each station. We were given samples of the dark, milk, and white chocolates. The dark chocolate overpowered the milk and white chocolates. We were also given a mocha filled chocolate and a raspberry filled chocolate. The mocha one had a very strong coffee flavor and was quite good. The raspberry one was in milk chocolate and was way too sweet for me. We also sampled a chocolate covered pretzel with caramel. It was ooey gooey, but not to my liking. I wish the chocolateers were working, but we went on a Saturday. No big deal. When you take the tour, you get an entry for a raffle for $20 in free chocolate as well as $10 off of a $20 purchase. A box of 8 chocolates from the left side of the counter in the gift shop is $20 and comes in a cute little box. The tour lasts about 30 minutes and then ends in the gift shop. Saturday morning chocolates...breakfast of champions!

My husband and I went to DeBrand's on or date night last night. We each ordered a ridiculous sized hot chocolate. They were delicious! Piping hot cocoa topped with the thickest, creamiest whipped cream, and garnished with a DeBrand's chocolate heart. The atmosphere is very inviting. There are many seating choices available; tables, couches, cushioned chairs. We opted for the cushioned chairs with a small coffee table in the middle. Music plays throughout, it's soft, not loud and overbearing. It's a warm vibe, like visiting a good friend or family's home. There is much variety on the menus, however we only ordered the hot chocolates & on our way out we purchased 2 milk chocolate turtles for our kids at home. The turtles cost something like $3.50 each, while the hot chocolate cost $12 each in the size we purchased. We went on a date night, but DeBrand's is a wonderful place for people of all ages, including children, and there are highchairs available. #treatyourself #datenight #kidfriendly
