Last night was our first night at What's Up Pub. We were extremely disappointed, definitely a one and done. My husband and I met another couple who arrived 15 minutes before us, they were seated and left to wait. They were never approached by a waitress, never provided a menu, or water. When my husband and I arrived we waited another 25 minutes while multiple waitresses walked back-and-forth, again, never approaching us or asking if we had been helped. Staffing did not appear to be an issue. One of us finally had to flag a server down for menus, water, and a drink. Two of us ordered peach mules. When our drinks arrived they tasted nothing like a mule. We asked the waitress for ginger beer to mix with the peach liquor that we were served. When she brought us the "ginger beer " it was clear and tasted like lime soda water. It definitely was not ginger beer and the waitress even said, "This is the closest thing we have." I sat there confused thinking why not just say you can't make a mule because you don't have the correct/main ingredient instead of giving us something we didn't order. Next, the food, I ordered cheese nachos which came with olives, lettuce, and tomatoes which tasted dirty like they were picked right off the vine and thrown on the food. Oh, and NO cheese on my "cheese nachos". Needless to say, the food was subpar, drinks were wrong, and the service was non-existent. Our waitress never made rounds to see if we needed more drinks or water, we had to flag her down each time. I don't understand today's generation, do they not understand that they're working for their tips. I can honestly say last night was the first time that I haven't never left a tip. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the atmosphere was great. Do not...
Read moreThis has become our new "go to" local pub. Beer is reasonably priced, and they have daily drink and beer specials. Half priced Martini's on Monday! The food is great. Everything we've eaten has been plentiful and flavorful. The wings are crispy and popular. I like the teriyaki wasabi sauce.
The bartenders are friendly...always. They treat their customers like family. The owners, Mark and Darlene, are on site often and are hands on. They appreciate having your business.
The bar is L shaped which doesn't provide too much rail seating (18 bar stools), but they do have a foot rail which is great for shorties like me. They have ample bar area seating with large bar tops and 2 pool tables. 8 TVs flow around the bar, another 8 or so surround the entire pub area.
They also have a family dining area separate from the bar with a warm fireplace and a cozy sofa seating area. More TV's abound so your family can watch tv together with your meal.
The location has suffered high turnover during the past 4-6 years, but I think Pub & Grub could make a go. Come try it out once or twice to get the feel of the place, staff, and owners....
Read moreI'm only rating based on having the loaded tots at a birthday gathering. Tots were pretty good, just didn't deliver on the first item listed in the description: beer cheese. Other than that, lots of other cheese, delicious, and large portion. Our waitress was great, she and the kitchen were just way overloaded for our party size, and they knew we were coming. Craft beer offerings were decent, but I'm a craft beer nut so I'd push them to have a little more availability especially with their location, nice atmosphere, and the popularity of craft beer. Speaking of the atmosphere... It's modern, clean, well appointed inside. I gave it 2 stars because it was so unbearably loud, and that was almost entirely our party's noise, not even the music or a band. The space is crying out for some...
