I usually dont write reviews, but this experience was too awful not to share. First off we entered the restaurant, and the cook was not there! The waiter had to start our order which was a basic appetizer and salad. Second, after the cook arrived 25 minutes late, the food he served was beyond atrocious. We ordered a shawerma steak sandwich, a chicken kabob and a steak kabob. The food finally came out and the shawerma sandwich was a gyro if anything. The menu claimed they were different items, which they are, so we had the right to expect a different meal. Any restaurant that claims that they are Mediterranean should understand this difference. When it came out as a gyro we expressed our disappointment to the waiter. Also the chicken and steak kabobs were rubbery, and the chicken kabob was not tender and tasted undercooked. We asked for rice to eat with the gyro beef since eating it as a sandwich was out of the question. The rice came out with too much salt, was crumbly, and doughy as if it was made in a steam rice cooker. Any Mediterranean restaurant should understand that respectable rice should not be made that way. As a customer I was ready to leave since I had to sit through a meal that I strongly disliked without any alternative due to my time crunch. The experience manages to get worse from here. The cook comes out to ask why we had a problem with the fake shawerma. I expressed my disdain with the shawerma techniques that he used. I told him that it was not real shawerma. He went on and on about how the regulations in Texas do not allow them to have real shawerma spits in the restaurant even though I have seen shawerma spits in many restaurants around Texas! He claimed that if I wanted to eat true shawerma then I ought to go back to where I am from to have it. This statement was the most disrespectful thing I have ever heard especially since A) I had just had a horrible meal B) I just paid quite a sum of money for the aforementioned horrible meal, and C) this cook was harassing me for the fact that he served me fake shawerma which was okay in his opinion since he used the shawerma spices yet nothing else! As of everything else, he went on to claim that he could serve terrible rice and undercooked chicken and asked me to name him restaurants that serve true shawerma and proper rice. When I did, he complained that none of them were in Fort Worth which was a point that was an irrelevant explanation as to why my experience was awful.
Needless to say, I paid and walked away from the most frustrating conversation I have ever had as a customer in a restaurant. And to top it all off, as we were leaving, my sister wished him a Happy New Year to lighten the mood, to which he responded that 2016 must have been a really bad year for me to act this way.
Well 2016 was pretty bad for me Mr. cook because I had to eat your food. I wish I could give a review with no stars because this restaurant surely does not deserve a 4.5! You should not enter this business with the intent of creating constant debates and excuses as to why customers are not happy with the results, you should just apologize and ensure that future experiences are...
Read moreFirst, this is in front of JPS on Allen Avenue, not Galveston Avenue. The GPS directions are wrong. Plus, this is a family owned business whose dining room is limited to two tables. The reviews don't state this. Food, service, and atmosphere are very authentic for Mediterranean cuisine. I had the hummus, eggplant dish (babaganous - spelling??) with pita bread whole, not slices. Plus, my entrée was lamb Sharma (seasoned awesome delicious)with rice and salad with a unique dressing (dressing). I had to take to go their portions for 2 people, not one. I took all 3 dishes to go, and I got extra pita bread, too. The owner has been in business for over 15 plus years. Their staff excellent service from their kitchen to service. I will be back and recommend to others who want authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Additionally, I saw numerous to go orders and catering calls to. Yet, I was informed they do delivery too. They have encountered the other delivery have not been delivered when an order is placed, which they have reported to them due to they have it covered. Parking is limited for customers only for...
Read morePREFACE: if I could give them ZERO stars, I would. Ok. This is gona be a long read, so prepare yourself. Yesterday was my sister’s baby shower at 12, and we ordered catering from Chadra’s for 35 people. The order was placed around May 19th. We paid for the order when we placed it, and everything was set to go. The food was supposed to be ready at 11am on June 5th, day of. So I arrive ten minutes early to pick up the food and no one is there. I wasn’t concerned at first, but as time ticked on, no one showed up. At all. I called both numbers numerous times, banged on all the doors, and checked all entrances - NO ONE ever showed up. So, after waiting til 11:40, I ordered from another restaurant last minute. Shout out to Moni’s Pasta and Pizza for taking a large order like that last minute, being professional, and getting everything done in time. They had all our food ready jn 40 minutes, and the baby shower was a success. Most people didn’t even know that a disaster almost occurred. We emailed Chadra’s and are waiting on a refund and a response. My ultimate dilemma now is if I’ll ever give them my...
