Dry tuff turkey sandwiches 15.00 Turkey and bread and nothing else.
Sausage sandwich and potato salad My turkey sandwich add cheese with 1/4 lb of burnt bacon tips. And water because we wanted to have beers at the bar. Not much food. "Only" 50.00. Keep in mind that that is two sandwiches and two sides . Two beers for 15.00. Miller lite was just a little cooler than room temperature. When we asked about it the answer was that sometimes it's like that. I got a chilled schooner after a request. She really just seemed focused on getting out of there. Had to find our own napkins, barbecue sauce, plastic wear, and to go boxes. Basically we were on our own. She never asked us if we needed anything. Just crazy. She asked if we wanted to start a tab We told her we wanted to pay cash but had to provide a credit card for a tab and she charged our card even after we told her. No apologies just oh, it will be back on your account in two to three days. Not really even sure why she started us a tab. She gave us last call 10 minutes later - 30 minutes before they closed.
Been here three times. First time was expensive. I was told it was. Second time beers on the patio. Fun time with the same bartender. It was okay but it was still expensive. This time was just a bust. They were also out of brisket. How does that happen? Kinda like Exxon being out of gas, or 7-11 being out of slurpees.
Really it felt like we were inconveniencing the bartender. Order taker was nice.
"You never know who you are waiting on"
Save yourself and go somewhere else that is truly glad you are there and doesn't take you for granted.
Cooper's is the best BBQ in Fort Worth hands down and they're glad to have you. The flaming windmill in Haslet is Really good and fun. Worth the...
Read moreI was excited about trying Heims out and so disappointed! It was hot, and they had a big fan at one end of the large area which did little to cool it off. We sat in front of it to be cool. I asked if the AC was broken and the guy behind the counter said no it is just a hot day. Now it's hot outside but I can cool my car down with the AC so something else is wrong here. On my next stop at Aldi, the building was cool. I mean it was very hot inside Heims to the point of discomfort. I was taken aback by the high prices but I thought we'll it's supposed to be good so... What I got was shockingly little. They gave 2 small ribs and a small scoop of pulled pork and 2 sides for nearly $20. The sides were generous if they were edible. Unfortunately, they use the bad cook's crutch here-- lots of black pepper and heat to cover any other taste. The collard greens, upcharged an extra $1, were so spicy and had a weird taste, that we couldn't eat them. We were so disappointed at that. The only thing not at a high heat level was the coleslaw which was ok with purple cabbage and big strips of carrots. Surprisingly, the don't even give a roll or slice of bread for the high cost charged. This left me with a clump of pulled pork I ate with a fork. The BBQ sauce is available at the table and it is spicy too, but good. The only stars here is they had Diet DP which the guy at the counter said they didn't. He didn't even know this fact. That brings up service which does not exist. It's counter service staffed by was an uninformed person who didn't know anything about the food or restaurant when asked. Will not return. That was my experience and I have every reason to want...
Read moreThis was our first visit here. We were planning to go to another restaurant for my birthday but they were closed. I have heard that Heim has a reputation for great Bbq. For me it didn't live up to the hype. We ordered a 4 meat plate to split between us.
For the sides.
The question always is would I go back. The answer for me is no. When considering the value and the food there are other bbq places that I would prefer to go to. It was a pretty high price for a small plate of BBQ that I wasn't really that impressed with. I'm also somewhat biased on the brisket as I smoke my own as well and prefer a stronger smoke flavor than restaurants are prepared to do as they have to keep it a little bland for most customers. I would say give it a try once and let your tongue make the decision for you. Oh and they were out of ribs so I didn't get...
